"Shangluo Daily" is generally divided into two stages before the "Cultural Revolution" and after the reform and opening up. On February 4, 1961, the Shangluo Prefectural Committee of the Central Bank of China decided to cancel the "Danjiang Daily", the official newspaper of the Shangxian County Committee of the Central Bank of China, where the Shangluo District is located, and merge it with the "Shangluo Daily". In January 1962, the Shangluo Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to change the name of "Shangluo Daily" to "Shangluo Daily", which will still have four pages and be published on Wednesdays. On January 19, 1967, when the "Shangluo News" was published to the 1315th issue, it was forced to cease publication due to the impact of the "Cultural Revolution". From January 24, 1967 to May 30, 1970, 13 issues of "Red Shangluo News", 120 issues of "Red News", and 287 issues of "Red Telegraph" were published. . In January 1969, the Shangluo District Revolutionary Committee decided to merge the Shangluo newspaper office, regional film company, Xinhua Bookstore, and Shangluo Theater into the Shangluo District Mao Zedong Thought Propaganda Station. After being introduced, many people wrote to the leaders of the prefectural committee, asking for the restoration of "Shangluo News". On March 20, 1986, the Propaganda Department of the Shangluo Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China sent a letter to the prefectural committee for instructions, recommending that the newspaper be resumed as soon as possible. On August 26, 1987, the Propaganda Department of the Shangluo Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China, in accordance with the instructions of the leaders of the prefectural committee, applied to the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China to resume publication of "Shangluo News". On March 3, 1988, the Shaanxi Provincial Press and Publication Bureau approved the resumption of publication of Shangluo News based on the approval of the State Administration of Press and Publication. On July 29 of the same year, the Shangluo District Editorial Committee, in accordance with the decision of the prefectural committee, agreed to restore Shangluo Newspaper as a county-level institution with a staff of 44 people. On May 31, 1989, the Shaanxi Provincial Press and Publication Bureau officially issued the newspaper registration certificate, with the domestic unified serial number CN61-0045. It was the latest among the ten prefecture-level and municipal party newspapers in Shaanxi Province to resume publication. On September 17, 2001, the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, in accordance with the approval of the State Council, agreed to abolish the Shangluo area and establish the prefecture-level Shangluo City. On November 23 of the same year, in accordance with the decision of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Shangluo Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China officially opened its offices to the outside world in the name of the Shangluo Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
