In my opinion, the reason why Mr. Luo Zhong has been able to climb the peak of calligraphy art and present a distinctive style at different stages is closely related to his firm belief and firm choice of "both merits and demerits" art, besides being carefully cultivated and impressed by his uncle and famous calligrapher Rodin in his early years. "Active and asexual. Immortal: Sex is futile and untrue. " During my twenty years as teachers and friends with Mr. Luo Zhong, I have listened to him explain to me the spiritual essence and study guide of this calligraphy art more than once. Of course, Mr. Luo Zhong himself is also a firm practitioner of the theory of "eclecticism". Whether practicing medicine in Yong 'an, studying literature and history in Yong 'an and Xiamen, until he retired, he never relaxed the pace of reaching the peak of calligraphy art by strengthening his pen and ink skills. From learning Han stele and Wei Bei in the early years, to young people focusing on cursive script, and now groping among Li, Cao and the stele, it is all to grasp the art of calligraphy. The theoretical basis of Mr. Wang's bitter learning method is seal script: Cao Quan, Zhang Qian, Yi Ying, Shi Mensong, bamboo slips and silk's "extensive reading and extensive learning"; Zhang Menglong, Cong Longyan, Cong Baozi and Song Gaoling in Wei Zhi; "Two Kings", Zhi Yong, Sun, Huai Su, Huang Tingjian, Zhenwu, Wang Duo, and even modern and contemporary Yu Youren, Master, Lin Sanzhi and Rodin, are all his dharma breasts. The wide range of methods, high utilization rate and deep practice show Luo Zhong's unremitting attitude of opposing the theory of "having both merits and virtues" and his enterprising spirit of organically forging the literati's mentality of "elegance in the spring breeze". At the same time, Mr. Luo Zhong emphasized the cultivation of temperament and the casting of talents, and paid attention to fully tapping the artistic potential of aesthetic subjects. Mr. Wang has always believed that only by entering the hall of literature, history and philosophy with sacred responsibility and maintaining deep affection for sister art can we temper our temperament, enhance our realm and give pen and ink the soul of "writing my heart". It is because of this insight that Mr. Wang has dabbled in music, poetry and even international standard dance, and has achieved a lot. Because of this, Mr. Wang's calligraphy realm has unique artistic charm and outstanding personal taste. The high-quality rhyme he shows is naturally not a step-by-step word maker, nor a "calligrapher" who only expresses "God". For this reason, I dare to assert that Professor Yu Yu, a famous calligrapher, praised Mr. Luo Zhong's "great achievements" before his death, which was by no means groundless, nor was it just an old man's praise and encouragement for the afterlife, but a special delight to the inheritors of calligraphy art and a rational judgment to the inheritors of civilization.
"Gao Huai and Yue Ji. It's so generous to meet the spring breeze. " "The spring breeze is elegant and can hold things. Autumn waters are dust-free. " Mr Luo Zhong appreciates such couplets. I think, isn't this old saying a true portrayal of Luo's open-minded and refined temperament? Over the years, whenever I meet a friend who admires my husband's persuasive and tireless teaching style, I always secretly rejoice that if someone praises his legacy as a "civilian calligrapher", I always agree and disagree. Some days, I have been looking for the exact evidence of this ambivalence before I solved this lingering knot. It was not until one of Rodin's students told me such a story that I suddenly realized. In the early 1980s, Rodin visited relatives and friends in Bamin and inspected the development of calligraphy art in Fujian. He sighed with anxiety: "I'm afraid no one has inherited the national culture." When discussing the inheritance and promotion of classical poetry with Yu Gang, a professor at Xiamen University, Mr. Luo Zhong also lamented this. I always feel that this coincidence is no accident. It is the result of the blood connection of Chinese excellent traditional culture! Only the fervent feelings of religious believers and the sacred mission of the inheritors of civilization can make such a deep sigh. Because of this sigh, we can truly understand the noble connotation of the title of "civilian calligrapher", truly feel the core of the so-called "virtue and art", and understand the profound intention of Mr. Luo Zhong to name his study "Yunyan Pavilion".
Whenever faced with Mr. Luo Zhong's books, whether it is the official script that has always been known to the world, the Rodin-style running script that is famous for its family style, or the Weibei running script and the giant grass that Mr. has been grinding for some time, it presents a unique and charming style. The strong visual impact between styles, the strong bookish atmosphere and temple atmosphere between lines always immerse people in a solemn and elegant or free and easy artistic conception. Mr. Prynne's official script works, rich brushwork, neat and compact calligraphy, both Zhang Qianbei's stroke order and the romance of Shimen Fu, together with the charm of Han bamboo slips, create a noble atmosphere that is both ancient, vulgar and magnificent. It is conceivable that Mr. Luo Zhong's dedication to the famous monuments of the Han Dynasty is far beyond the reach of those who have tasted them. The aesthetic value presented by its lofty and outstanding style is unique in contemporary book circles. After reading Mr. Wei Bei's running script, it is not difficult to feel Mr. Luo Zhong's strong desire to get rid of Rodin's shackles and strive to build his own style. Even when writing Rodin, Mr. Zhan kept pace with the times, constantly abandoned the traces of too sharp edges and corners, and gradually moved towards a new realm of harmony and fluency.
Especially before his left-handed cursive works, especially the big cursive script, we can not only get a glimpse of Mr. Wang's profound skills in Zhiyong's True Grass Thousand Characters, Sun's Book Score, Zhenwu's Heart Sutra and Wang Duo's Poems, but also get a glimpse of his grasp of Wei Bei's dignified cursive style, appreciation of the master's ethereal atmosphere and transcendental meaning in Yu Youren. All this has created Mr. Wang's self-confidence, long-distance and elegant mind and pursuit, and formed the spirit and charm of "vigorous and refined, elegant and out of the dust". The artistic realm constructed by the passionate momentum, exquisite and changeable lines and rich natural pen and ink under his wrist is really touching and addictive. I think Mr. Luo Zhong's brush and ink skills, cultural background and artistic talent in cursive art are the effective integration of all his studies and accomplishments, his self-affirmation after his eyes-opening, and his step-by-step approach to the peak of calligraphy art. Therefore, I think that the cursive art of "joys and sorrows are one in the book" may find a good carrier for Mr. Luo Zhong to express his temperament and form his joys and sorrows. Because of this carrier, Mr. Luo Zhong will reach a higher peak of calligraphy art in the near future.
