Characteristics of Six Jun Stone Carvings in Zhaoling in Tang Dynasty.
The stone carvings of Liu Jun in Zhaoling were originally symmetrically arranged in the east-west corridor of Xuanwu Gate at the northernmost part of the cemetery, generally in a stepped shape, rising gradually from north to south, with the horse's head as the altar facing south. "Zhaoling Six Horses" is made of fine stones, and the external dimensions of the six stones are basically the same. Each stone carving is about 2m wide, 1.7m high and 0.4m thick.
A convex stone frame is reserved around each stone, with six horses with different postures and expressions as the outline, and the carved stone is used to express the high relief form with the depth of 15cm, in which Sanma stands upright and Sanma Mercedes-Benz.
The Historical Biography of Emperor Taizong also asked the calligrapher Ou Yangxun to copy the name and royal praise of each horse on paper, so that craftsmen could carve them on stone carvings. Although there is a chisel one foot square on each stone carving, the handwriting has been severely weathered.
