Calligraphy has been signed for twelve months.

December calligraphy inscriptions are nicknamed Meng Chun, Zhongchun, Ji Chun, Xia Meng, Midsummer, Late Summer, Qiu Meng, Zhongqiu, Qiu Ji, Mengmeng, Midwinter and Jidong.

Ancient letters, calligraphy and paintings all have inscriptions. When giving gifts, the name and date are written vertically with a brush to show the giver and the recipient. This is also a manifestation of calligraphy art. The inscription contains titles, including: the source of text content, the object of giving gifts, the reason for creation, the creation time, the author's name, the font size and so on. Signatures are divided into "single segment" and "double segment". If both the donor's name and the author's signature are "double", it is called "single", and if only the author's name is signed, it is called "single".

When the ancients wrote inscriptions, they generally did not write the common name "January and February" directly, but chose to use the nickname instead. For example, write about Meng Chun in January, Midspring in February, Ji Chun in March, Xia Meng in April, Midsummer in May, Late Summer in May, Qiu Meng in June, Midautumn in July, Qiu Ji in September, Mengdong in October, Midwinter in November and Jidong in December.
