Chen Fayuan
Chen Fayuan, born in Xiayi, Henan in 1933, is an outstanding representative of the older generation of Chinese traditional painters. In 1950, he entered Liu Haisu's family and studied oil painting. In 1952, he moved in to study Chinese painting under Mr. Pan Tianshou. He has held solo exhibitions in Shanghai under the auspices of Pan Tianshou and Wu Fozhi, and many of his works have been collected by many institutions and enthusiasts. He once served as deputy director of Henan Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, visiting professor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and deputy director of Henan Laozi Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute. He is also a master of calligraphy.
