According to legend, Zhu Zhishan, a famous calligrapher in Ming Dynasty, once wrote such a couplet for a rich man:
This place is safe to live in; He was very sad.
The rich man was very angry when he saw it. He tore up the couplets and sued the yamen, saying that the couplets cursed his family. Zhu Zhishan rushed to the yamen and said to the magistrate with a smile, "This is not a curse to him, but a blessing to him!" Say and read it again in person:
This place is safe and can live permanently; He is kind and not sad.
After hearing this, the magistrate and the rich man froze and had nothing to say.
