Baiyun Mountain in Yulinjia County is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
Baiyun Mountain is located on the bank of the Yellow River 5 kilometers south of Jiaxian County in northern Shaanxi. It is famous for the historic Baiyun Temple built on the mountain and the strange style of the Yellow River Gorge below the mountain. Baiyun Temple was first built in the Song Dynasty and was mainly built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the forty-sixth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Wanli Zhu Yijun personally issued an imperial edict to Baiyun Mountain and personally granted him 4,726 volumes of "Tao Zang". Baiyun Mountain was called Shuanglong Ridge or Saga Ridge in ancient times. Later, it was called Baiyun Mountain because it was surrounded by white clouds all year round. The temple was also called Baiyun Temple because "the mountain gate is not locked and sealed by white clouds." At present, Baiyun Temple's buildings are mainly Taoist, with Buddhist and Confucian temples. There are 99 ancient buildings of various types, as well as sculptures, paintings, calligraphy, music and other cultural highlights.
