The world has different opinions about Qianlong. Some people say that he is an eternal monarch comparable to Kangxi, while others think that Qianlong is the chief culprit of the decline of the Qing Dynasty.
It may be difficult for us to judge whether Gan Long is right or wrong, but at least it is clear that the decline trend of the Qing Dynasty has become more and more obvious since Emperor Jiaqing, so people constantly question Gan Long's vision of choosing successors: Why did he choose Jiaqing?
Emperor Qianlong had seventeen sons in his life, among which the armadillo of Emperor Jiaqing ranked fifteenth, and there were fourteen brothers above him. According to the three cardinal guides and five permanent members of the feudal dynasty, the throne will never fall to Jiaqing. However, the reality is such a coincidence that Qianlong paved the way for Jiaqing's upper position with his high life.
First of all, we use exclusion method to screen competitors.
Yong Lian, the son of the second emperor, and Yong Cong, the son of the seventh emperor, were the first to be excluded. Yong Lian was made a prince at the age of six, but he died within two years. Yongcong's situation is worse than his. He died at the age of one, and there is no possibility of competing for the throne.
Secondly, the emperors' nine sons, ten sons, thirteen sons, fourteen sons and sixteen sons are excluded. They all died young, even except for the thirteenth son Yongzheng and the fourteenth son Lu Yong, the other three princes died before they even had time to say their names.
Then the fourth and sixth sons of the emperor went out. Both of them were originally adopted by the prince, but they are no longer qualified to inherit the throne in name.
Later, the eldest son Huang Yong and the third son Zhang Yong were eliminated. Facing the death of two sons, Hyo Hyun-chun Fu Cha soon died of grief.
In order to express his mind, Qianlong asked Yong Huang to welcome the funeral as a big brother. As a result, Huang Yong and Zhang Yong behaved badly at the funeral and didn't see the heavy sadness. Because of this, Qianlong severely reprimanded them and deprived them of their qualifications as heirs.
Next are the Eight Emperors Yongxuan and the Twelve Emperors Yongxuan. Yong Xuan's foot is disabled, and Qianlong can't choose a disabled person as his heir. Yong Xuan also understood this matter, so he simply gave up the idea of competing for the throne and indulged in debauchery every day. Maybe he's in a good mood. He lived to the age of 87 and became the oldest prince in the Qing Dynasty.
As for Yong Xuan, he was the eldest son of Nala, the second queen of Qianlong, and the only son alive at that time. At the same time, he himself has no negative news, which is an advantage.
But it happened on his way to Jiangnan with Gan Long? Broken hair event? , angered Qianlong, was repatriated to Beijing, and then even the queen's seal was confiscated, and her status plummeted. Because of this incident, Yongyun lost the qualification to inherit the throne.
Then came Lin Yong, the seventeenth son of the emperor. Lin Yong is Jiaqing's half-brother, six years younger than him. Unless he has a talent far beyond Jiaqing, he will never be able to surpass Jiaqing's superior position, so he has no competitiveness from the beginning.
After that, Yongqi, the fifth son of the emperor. Yongqi is not only knowledgeable, but also good at riding and shooting, which is both civil and military. What is even more rare is his filial piety. On one occasion, Gan Long met a fire in Qingyan, Kyushu, and Yong Qi rushed into the fire regardless of his personal safety, and carried Gan Long out alone.
For this prince, Qianlong was very important. Later, he was named Wang Qin, and this was actually the prelude to Li Chu. It's a pity that Yongqi suffered from gangrene not long after the crown prince was conferred, and died a year later at the age of 25.
Here, the seventeen Jiaqing brothers have lost the qualification to compete for the throne for various reasons, and finally only Jiaqing himself and the eleventh son of the emperor are left forever. Then why is Jin Yong inferior to Jiaqing? This is mainly due to the following reasons:
First, can Yong-hoon do it? Chicken ribs?
Although Yong Xun is brilliant, his talent is not reflected in politics, but in epigraphy, such as amazing calligraphy. However, for an emperor, it doesn't matter whether the calligraphy level is superb or not, and sometimes it even brings harm.
Song Huizong in Song Dynasty, for example, has always been remembered for his emaciated body, but his evaluation in history books is not enough, and even many descendants hate him. It can be seen that this calligraphy master, who is also the emperor, is such a failure.
There has always been a custom of practicing martial arts in the Qing Dynasty. Yongxun not only has no high-powered martial arts, but even his talent is a bit tasteless. Such qualifications are simply not suitable for being an emperor.
Second, Yong-hoon is indecisive.
Gan Long thinks that immortality has a fatal weakness, right? Indecision? He lacks courage and determination to do things, and his indecisive character is more distinct in the case of insufficient ability.
As an emperor, he has to face a lot of memorials and deal with incalculable things every day. If he is too indecisive, it will not only greatly affect the efficiency of the normal operation of state organs, but also be easily used by some treacherous people.
For example, in the Song Dynasty, Song Qinzong was very indecisive in the face of Xu Jinguo's invasion. He listened to the hawks for a while and then sided with the opposition. Negotiate with Jin people calmly today, and tear up the agreement decisively tomorrow and attack each other. Under his indecision, the Song Dynasty finally came to an end.
Considering this, it is obvious that Ganlong values Jiaqing, which is relatively tough.
Third, Wei Jiashi is more popular than Jin Jiashi.
The competition between princes also depends on the competition between their mothers. Yong Xun's mother, Jin Jiashi, was deeply loved by Qianlong, and was named Shu Fei by posthumous title after her death.
However, compared with Jiaqing's mother Wei Jiashi, Jin Jiashi is still not very popular. From the 21st year of Qianlong, Wei Jiashi gave birth to four sons and two daughters for Qianlong. In the 30th year of Qianlong reign, Wei Jiashi was made the imperial concubine, and in the same year, the imperial seal of Queen Nala was confiscated. From then on, Wei Jiashi acted as the queen's authority as the imperial concubine and presided over the harem affairs.
From here, we can easily see that Qianlong has regarded Wei Jiashi as the queen and Jiaqing as his son, which is an advantage that Jin Yong and other princes can't have.
In short, although Qianlong has seventeen sons, for various reasons, only Jiaqing and Jin Yong can meet the requirements of successors. In contrast, Qianlong obviously likes Jiaqing, who is more favored by his mother and has a tougher personality.
As for Jiaqing's brother, his ability is 100 times worse than his, which is totally bullshit. Of course, if Yongqi didn't die young, maybe Jiaqing would really be nothing. Readers, what do you think?
