Li Xiulin, whose pen name is from Yanshan, is also signed as Master of Fine Ink Painting. Born in 1944, graduated from the Traditional Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Mr. Sun Qifeng, Sun Kegang and Bai Gengyanzhu. He is a member of the Beijing Garden Flower and Bird Painting Research Association, executive vice president of Shandong Traditional Chinese Painting Academy, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and a national first-class artist.

He was influenced by his family since childhood and studied poetry, calligraphy and painting diligently, which laid a good foundation for his artistic career. In recent years, he has specialized in flowers and birds, and occasionally landscapes, especially grapes, peonies, and birds. The works pursue a vigorous, vast, swollen, and calm style. The calligraphy creations of Shanxingcao, Lishu and Northern School stand out for their smooth, generous, unrestrained and powerful calligraphy style and are known to the world. He has participated in many national calligraphy and painting exhibitions and won awards.
