When the word "Dunhuang" became three-dimensional, true and cordial bit by bit during the five-day and four-night trip, this group of people of all colors from all corners of the country really settled down.
At the moment, we are in Dunhuang.
When the sun goes down, the wind rages on the sand and rolls up thousands of dust. When the sky is dyed yellow-brown like sand, heaven and earth are integrated, and the endless shadow of Blackstone Mountain in the distance disappears into sight.
A bus incarnates as a point in time, chasing the footsteps of sunset and sandstorm, madly crossing the road, endless. When the dust is far behind, two rows of unsaturated poplars and the bottomed river reappear in front of you, and Dunhuang stands in front of you.
This is Dunhuang in our eyes, and it is also Dunhuang in our hearts. It has the roughness of a man in the northwest and the gentleness of a small town in the south.
Images of flying girls and grottoes can be seen everywhere embedded in this small town. With the construction site under construction, blue and white pupils shuttling on the road, and a large piece of mutton just baked, we walked step by step in the streets.
Although there is no neon green in big cities here, the dynamic and slow life in the cultural imprint makes us unconsciously take a nap when we are away on business.
At the moment, we are in Dunhuang.
Because in Dunhuang, we can clearly feel the biting and dry wind blowing on the face, and even the nostrils have the graininess of sand. If we hadn't discovered Danghe River, which is called the mother river by the local people, we would have stayed in Dunhuang, which was the first impression that it was all desert.
Dunhuang, which has been famous for the excavation of Mogao Grottoes for thousands of years, has been successfully appreciated by modern literati with the help of paintings by famous artists such as Zhang Daqian. Even if it is later included in the education system of art courses, how can those pages printed on books really reproduce the massiness and profundity of Dunhuang ancient city?
Dunhuang, known as the world museum, has long been famous and its popularity is admirable. In the era of pursuing high-speed development and high-quality life, what is needed is a confidant who really understands it and is willing to spend time with it.
Hou Liming, an aesthetic researcher who has spent half his life trying to go out with Dunhuang Dance, 13 years, Lu, a folk artist who wants to leave something for Dunhuang, and Lu, who wants to protect Dunhuang with contemporary art, are all "confidants" of Dunhuang.
At the moment, we are in Dunhuang.
In this long or short but precious time intersection, everyone put aside other thoughts and sat down to become listeners and witnesses of Dunhuang, a thousand-year art form. As for what you have heard and what you want to do, it depends on your indissoluble bond with Dunhuang.
In Dunhuang, sometimes "civilization" is like a pile of yellow sand that has not passed through the chest, so heavy that people can't breathe. The stories of those who died outside the Great Wall, and the people who died here, made me look around in the Wang Yang sea of time like a ephemera, and it was hard to control myself.
And when we escape from the traces of human civilization together, the sense of reality from nature makes everyone breathe in the thick history.
101On the morning of October 28th, we stepped into the carriage of the "Art Bus", followed ADCC and his party with the theme of "Art in the Present", and crossed the 440-kilometer sand sea, exploring more connections between Dunhuang and the present and the world through interactive art forms such as earth art, installation, sound, behavior and sculpture arranged along the way.
More than 200 people were flying in the desert in four buses, and a large area of light-colored sand outside the window quickly retreated. We are full of curiosity about this art exhibition of bus stop sign installation. The vast desert is a field. How can artists shape the traces of civilization in the wilderness?
