The three characters "人Jinglu" on the lintel were written by the Japanese calligrapher Omi Naruse On. The cottage has flower gardens, rockeries, fish ponds, five-step towers, ten-step pavilions, pavilions, seven-character corridors, wallless towers, sleeping rainbow pavilions, and library pavilions. The winding path is surrounded by railings, covered with flowers and trees, and the scenery is elegant. In his later years, Huang Zunxian lived in seclusion in Renjing Lu, composed a large number of poems, and self-selected and compiled "Renjing Lu Poems".
This former residence covers a small area, but has exquisite architecture and reasonable layout. It has a living room, study room, bedroom, library, wall-free building, five-step building, ten-step pavilion, and Xiting. There are flower beds, rockeries, etc. There are more than 8,000 volumes of Huang Zunxian's various works and books he has read in the library.
There are couplets written by Huang Zunxian himself in the house, such as the couplet in the living room: "Wanzhang's letter returns to the abbot's room, surrounded by his own mountains", and another couplet: "There are three parts of water, four parts of bamboo, and three parts of bamboo." "The bright moon is at seven points; looking at the Yangtze River from the Five-step Tower and the Ten-step Pavilion" all describe the environment of this former residence very vividly. Entering Renjinglu, you will feel that this is a unique cultural landscape.
In 1980, the government allocated special funds and received substantial funding from the Hong Kong Jiaying Chamber of Commerce for comprehensive restoration. In 1985, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Huang Zunxian's death, people from all walks of life in Meizhou gathered in Renjinglu to unveil the white marble statue of Huang Zunxian. Renjing Lu is listed as a provincial key cultural relic protection unit.
