What is the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing?

The Palace Museum has specialized museums such as art, painting, bronzes, ceramics, treasures, clocks and watches, toys, inscriptions, cultural relics of Four Treasures of the Study and Qing Dynasty, and cultural relics of Qing Dynasty operas. More than 600 pieces of/kloc-0 art treasures from primitive society to the end of Qing Dynasty were exhibited in the "Art Museum of Past Dynasties". Representative works of court paintings from the Five Dynasties to the Southern Song Dynasty, porcelain from famous kilns in the Song Dynasty, literati paintings and religious sculptures in the Yuan Dynasty, porcelain and Four Treasures of the Study in the Ming Dynasty and representative works of calligraphy and painting of major schools, porcelain, sculpture and enamel in the Qing Dynasty.

The "Gallery" displays ancient paintings and calligraphy treasures in turn. Among them, Lu Ji's Ping Fu Tie is the earliest calligraphy ink handed down from ancient times. Gu Kaizhi's "Ode to Luoshen" and "Pictures of Lienv" (Song manuscripts) are the earliest famous paintings handed down from ancient times. Famous works such as You Chuntu by Zhan Ziqian in Sui Dynasty, Pace Map by Yan in Tang Dynasty, Five Cattle Map in Tang Dynasty, Plain Map by Song Guoxi, Wei Yan Pastoral by Li in Song Dynasty, Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival by Zhang Zeduan in Song Dynasty, and famous artists such as Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan since Tang and Song Dynasties.

The Bronze Museum exhibited masterpieces of bronzes from Shang Dynasty to Warring States Period. Among them are Ding, Zun, Fu, Jue and Jiao in Shang Dynasty, Bronzes with long inscriptions and exquisite decorations in Western Zhou Dynasty, Ding and Ding in Luda Situ in Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, and various bronze mirrors, coins and seals.

"ceramics museum" exhibited painted pottery in the Yellow River valley 6,000 years ago, black pottery in Shandong province 5,000 years ago, primitive porcelain in Shang Dynasty 4,000 years ago and celadon in the Eastern Han Dynasty. From Sui and Tang Dynasties to Song and Yuan Dynasties in Hebei Province, there were Xing kiln products, "three colors" and "underglaze colors". In the Ming Dynasty, there were big red glaze, ruby glaze, light yellow glaze, peacock green glaze, bucket color, multicolored glaze and clear enamel color.

"Treasure Hall" displays gold, silver, jade, agate, crystal handicrafts and tableware, tea sets, wine sets and gifts. One set of chimes in Qianlong year 16 gold, and two in gold 13500. A golden tower built by Qianlong for storing mother's hair, with a height of 1 m, 4400 taels of gold, and gemstones embedded in the base and tower body. There is also a "Dayu Water Control Yushan", which weighs several thousand kilograms. Jade is collected from Xinjiang, and it takes four years to transport and carve it.

The "Bell Hall" displays ancient and modern clocks and watches produced in the Qing Palace at home and abroad, with expensive materials, gorgeous decoration and exquisite design. Some of them are very tall, so they have to step on the stairs to climb the bell tower. Some doors will open and puppets will slowly appear; Some will play elegant and wonderful music when the piano and drums are ringing together; Some people spin in the bouquet, or spin in the running water, or birds sing in the branches, or roosters crow, and even a robot can write neat Chinese characters.

The exhibits displayed in these museums account for only a few percent of the total collection, but they are already spectacular. The halls of the Forbidden City, such as Taihe Hall, Zhonghe Hall, Baohe Hall, Gan Qing Palace, Jiaotai Hall, Kunning Palace, hall of mental cultivation, Palace of Gathered Elegance, Changshou Palace, etc. They are on display just like in the Qing Dynasty.
