2. He Shoulian:
There will be a full moon on the horizon;
there are centenarians in the world.
This is a congratulatory couplet written by Wu Shujing in Song Dynasty. It is said that it is the earliest one in history. Huang Gengyu's wife's birthday, Wu Shujing wrote this pair of birthday couplets. On the first part, "the horizon will be full of a full moon", and Mrs. Huang's birthday is on March 14th. "It will be full of a full moon", which means that Mrs. Huang's birthday is very close to the May Moon, and it is cleverly pointed out. Because in ancient times, the moon represented "Yin", a full moon, and also implied that Mrs. Huang and her husband lived together for a long time. Puns are full of wishes and are very appropriate.
The second couplet "People who are still centenarians in the world" means long life. Zhong, here is the meaning of wish. The words used in the whole couplet are popular and elegant, and the month is used to express birthday wishes. The antithesis is neat and poetic, and it is worthy of being a famous couplet that is amazing.
21. Reading Association
The sound of wind and rain reading is audible;
family affairs, state affairs and everything in the world are concerned.
This couplet was written by Gu Xiancheng (155 -1612), the leader of Donglin Party in Ming Dynasty, and it has positive significance so far. People may have different views on the "Donglin Party members" in the Ming Dynasty. From the perspective of this couplet, it shows that the scholars not only study hard, but also care about national affairs. The first couplet combines the sound of reading with the sound of wind and rain, which is both poetic and meaningful. The bottom line has the ambition to rule the country and the world. The wind is against the rain, the home is against the country, and the ear is against the heart. It is very neat, especially when used in conjunction with words, such as the sound of books.
A scholar should not only read a good book, but also care about the country, politics, and what's going on in the world, and learn more about the world, instead of studying and reading books.
Through five "voices" and five "things", couplets show the feelings of scholars who care about national affairs, and advocate that scholars should not only bury themselves in their studies, but also care about national current affairs. "Every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the country." As far as the art of couplets is concerned, the use of three-character phrases has a sense of like a pouring of large and small pearls into a plate of jade, which is patchy and well-organized, which increases the sense of rhythm of couplets and makes people remember them after reading them. "The wind and rain sound the sound of reading, and the sound is heard; Family affairs, state affairs, and everything is concerned. " This is a classic couplet, and people have to sigh at its atmosphere and courage. It is often seen that people of insight take this couplet as their motto to encourage themselves to study hard and serve the motherland. If the author can see that people still agree with his thoughts in this way today, he will surely die with a smile.
