Sun Shimin was born in 1942, a remote village in Weifang City, Shandong Province, which is hard to find on the map. Influenced by his family, he loved calligraphy since childhood. But at that time, the people were in poverty and the country was in trouble. His childhood and adolescence were spent in the whirlpool of life. There is a saying in the Biography of Ma Yuan in the later Han Dynasty: "If a man is determined to win, he will change his mind if he is poor ..." Sun Shimin began to practice calligraphy at the age of five. In the case of a poor family, he took out his copybook in his spare time, sat on the floor, practiced hard with branches as pens and mud as paper. He used his own efforts to weave a beautiful dream for the future, study hard, study hard and work hard. His mother was moved by his infatuation and scraped off the bottom ash of the pot and mixed it with rubber to make "ink" for her to use. Make two copies every day, and she wrote until she was twelve or thirteen. She has become a well-known "prodigy".
Learn from the true marrow, burn ointment and seek novelty. For decades, Sun Shimin has devoted himself to studying and quietly cultivated in the art garden, and has developed a profound foundation of pen and ink. During the 12 years from primary school, junior high school to senior high school, he earnestly sought advice and made a detailed exploration of the use, structure and charm of famous ink. He worked in Sri Lanka for several years and persisted. In the exploration of calligraphy, he pursues "handwriting is my heart", often aiming at "writing the heart" and keeping "inheriting the law for me". In artistic practice, he tries to be unique in the situation of "taking the strange as the right, taking the partial as the right" and "fancy is unrealistic and the strange is not distorted", and advocates "returning to the ancestors first if you want to be true". On the road of calligraphy, he began to learn from Tang Kai, turned to the North Monument to lay the foundation stone, traced back to the source with seal script, and realized his feelings with cursive script. He studied Liu Gongquan's Mysterious Pagoda, Yan Zhenqing's Ma Gu Altar, and Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Holy Teaching. Following Wei Bei's Epitaph of Zhang Xuan, Hanshu Tablet, Zhang Qianbei, Book of Rites Tablet and Huashan Temple Tablet, etc. In cursive script, he mainly studied Tang Sun's Book Score and Chunhua Pavilion Sticker. Over time, the art of calligraphy gradually improved. 1959, Sun Shimin was admitted to Shandong Normal University with excellent results. During his four years in college, he spent a little time practicing calligraphy, focusing on Wang Xizhi's Mo Bao biography "Preface to the Lanting Pavilion" and so on. His calligraphy art is becoming more and more exquisite. During the period of 1964- 1976, seal script and cursive script were mainly used; After 1976, it mainly attacked Han Li and Weibei, and also attacked the wild grass. Huai Su's autobiographical notes, Zhang Xu's Four Ancient Poems and General Pei's Poems of Yan Zhenqing ... enriched his calligraphy career and made him stand out in the book world.
Pen and ink are endless, and I am willing to be a pioneer cow. Throughout his life, Sun Shimin stayed in the countryside, but no matter how the environment changed and his position moved, he always took time out to engage in his favorite calligraphy career after work. Even if he goes out to visit and study, he always pays attention to climbing Mount Tai and Huangshan, traveling in Yunnan and Guizhou, watching stone carvings, visiting the forest of steles, entering bookstores and reading plaques. Every time he has an idea, he writes it down, which often becomes the source of his later creation. If you don't accumulate a step, you won't reach a thousand miles, and if you don't accumulate a trickle, you won't be a river. Sun Shimin did not take shortcuts, did not engage in technology, and worked hard.
Over the years, he devoted himself to studying calligraphy theory and his calligraphy creation. China's calligraphy history, literature history, calligraphy aesthetics and Chinese and Western philosophy of art have been thoroughly and systematically studied, so the integration of art and philosophy, the richness of pen and ink and content, the inheritance of tradition and the innovation of personality are all different and deepened. After decades of hard study, hard practice and asking for help from many teachers, it has reached the point of perfection. The interest of the Tang people, the chic of the two kings, the strength of Weibei, the profundity of Han Lizhi, the elegance of Thai seal, the simplicity of bronze inscriptions and the plain and rigorous inscriptions on Oracle bones all deeply touched his aesthetic thoughts and concepts of calligraphy. He gradually realized the evolution of calligraphy art with time for the spirit of Song and Yuan Dynasties and the trend of getting rid of the old and seeking the new in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Sun Shimin appreciates the sentence "If you want to learn poetry, you must practice hard outside" in Lu You's poem "Spreading Strings and Making Zhang More". He thinks that the bright color of ink has a direct influence on his books. "The vitality is dripping, and the obstacles are still wet" (Du Fu) means that the effect of using ink is excellent. Drawing on the experience of painters of past dynasties, he thinks that Huang's pen and ink are subtle, Wang Meng's pen and ink are free and easy, his pen and ink are light, Zhenwu's pen and ink are wet, and Mi Fei's pen and ink are novel, which is worth learning from calligraphers. At the same time, on the basis of extensive dabbling in calligraphy of inscriptions, he deliberately pursued the integration of inscriptions, and injected the horizontal trend of Han and Wei Bei's writing into the running script, making it look generous and heavy, with a good style. Look at his cursive script, pay attention to the brushwork of bone method and the change of thickness His brushwork, such as Ryutsuki Baiyun, is magnificent, such as wind and thunder rolling, splashing ink dripping, elegant style, a new fairyland, giving people a sense of beauty linked by blood, inspired by nature. His official script, with Han as its ancestor, is constantly innovating in artistic practice, with steady strokes, even words, graceful and fluent, elegant and agile, showing its own characteristics. In regular script, he gained the power of Li Qiben's Ming of Liquan, which is neat and rigorous, rich and mellow, profound and subtle, just like him. His running script is full of the momentum of "coming like thunder, just like the green light of rivers and seas": Youlong, for example, is amazing. In his later years, he was good at writing big characters such as "Dragon and Tiger". He was vigorous and strong, and he was familiar with the old spicy food, which was amazing. There were pens in ancient times, but there were no pens in the past. Over time, it has formed its own unique style: solemn and deep, magnificent, rough and chic, elegant and vigorous, with a strong spirit of the times. His works, with different words and different moods, show different verve: when excited, strange rises and surges, pouring thousands of miles; When it's quiet, the wind is bright and the moon is bright, and the spirit is quiet. Dynamic potential, including silence; Quiet, contains the power of restraint. Some of his books are integrated with cursive script, official script, seal script and calligraphy, and the paintings are rich in meanings, which fully shows his solid skill in controlling pen and ink.
It seems ordinary, but it is actually easy to achieve but difficult. When talking about art, Ba Jin once said: "Art is not simple, and it is not mediocre. Plain art is the most touching. " Sun Shimin has high standards and strict requirements for his books, and he never dares to slack off. He tried to make his works "reach their temperament and shape their sorrows and joys". He is well aware of the truth that "art focuses on innovation" and insists on the creative way of "making the past serve the present and being good at innovation". Calligraphy is expressed by lines, which are long and short and varied. There is a dry Kun between the point and the row. The ancients wrote beautifully: as heavy as a cloud, as light as a cicada's wing, guiding the sound of spring, and the mountain is flat when eating. "Between paintings, ups and downs are at the peak, pearls are in the vast mountains ..." Huang Cheng, a painting and calligraphy theorist in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, brilliantly pointed out in "Thirty-five Paintings": "Thickness is indispensable, and thinness is indispensable. When using ink, there is a strong contrast between dry and wet, thick and light, black and white, and there is richness, such as rustling on paper. "Or splash ink dripping wet, or break contact with god, a trend of elegance, all show a strong, warm, hot strong breath. Look at his works, whether they are small letters, dignified and elegant, cursive and official scripts, and their meticulous brushwork and careful packaging are really outstanding. This subtle and orderly pen and ink, the coordination of shade and dryness, is just right. Careful examination always gives people a "thing" to see and understand, which can stimulate fighting spirit, sublimate feelings and purify the soul. It has reached the state that there is more than enough to hide, and the awkwardness of hiding is elegant, and the wildness of hiding is escaping. To sum up, his works are magnificent, smooth and unrestrained, like flowing water. As the ancients said, only by "doing what you want from your heart without overstepping the bounds" can you "have flowers in the grass pond". "Different scales, powerful, naive in plain, interesting in pen. Inheriting tradition and being brave in innovation make people feel flesh and blood, full of artistic magic and full of vitality. Sun Shimin is good at observing, attaches importance to since the enlightenment, pays attention to experience and feelings, and takes emotion as a teacher. The book is full of affection and materialized into a book. Love and books blend together, boundless, and enter the real realm.
In the interview, the author was fortunate to witness Sun Shimin's live book. He dipped in thick ink, spread out the rice paper, leaned slightly and quickly glanced at his eyes. Then he put the pen on the paper, put it in, wrote it, closed it, and made it clear one by one. The stippling is solid and powerful, the turning point is clean and neat, the pen tip is delivered at the receiving point, but it is not floating, pressing but not stagnant, and the whole work is just a stroke. Be prepared for danger in times of peace, forget the rules at the sight of profit, have strong bones, strict statutes and great spirit. The pen is fluent, and the works are condensed into a rich, broad-minded and elegant style, which makes people applaud and sigh.
Learning is not to flatter the times, but to seek the true knowledge that inspires future generations. "Don't let people boast that the color is good, just let the air be full of dry Kun." This is his pursuit. In his works, he pursues the artistic conception of "a thousand flowers in the fragrant snow, a tree in the world comes first in spring", which is concise, heavy and broad, giving people the association of loyalty, integrity and noble morality, and giving people the feeling of prosperity and enterprising. He often said: "All honors and disgraces are empty, and only artistic achievements are real." It can be seen that Sun Shimin has no idea of leading the book world at all, nor does he have the ambition to shock the outstanding people, let alone lose any power, title or personal interests. He is just obsessed with calligraphy. Time flies, the sun and the moon fly like a shuttle. He wrote from morning till night, from spring to winter, from childhood to over half a year old, out of a sincere talk, out of a free hand, out of an inexplicable "pen and ink addiction." He has a strong pursuit in art, but he doesn't need to pursue anything. Even if he can't pursue anything, he still insists. His books are as plain and ordinary as the yellow land where he was born, and as natural and comfortable as a breeze stream. He doesn't want to be conspicuous or awesome, but he can't be despised. With sober self-knowledge, tenacious tenacity and plain mind, he has been following his own path step by step and cultivating his artistic world with pen and ink. Reading his works is neither arrogant nor daunting. It gives people a feeling of elegance, tranquility and peace.
Diligence is constant, suffering is delusion, and 90% becomes Lei Chong. Over the years, Sun Shimin's name has been included in more than 30 calligraphy and painting monographs, such as China Dictionary of Contemporary Masters and Biography of Cao Zhou Painters. His books spread from 199 1 to Japanese, Singaporean, Taiwan Province and Hongkong, and were regarded as gifts and treasures for friends. Many forest of steles and art galleries in China also collect his works. 1993 10, whose works are collected by the Ministry of People and Culture of China. His works have participated in national, provincial, prefectural and municipal calligraphy exhibitions for many times, and won the Excellence Award and the Golden Cup Award in the "Two Kings Cup" national calligraphy and seal cutting competition and exhibition.
Success always loves the strugglers. Sun Shimin was a director of China Calligraphers Association, a director and deputy secretary-general of China Wang Xizhi Foundation, and a researcher of China Wang Xizhi Research Association. And won the honorary title of international super painter and connoisseur of Chinese and foreign paintings and calligraphy. Newspapers such as Heze Daily and Popular Daily introduced Sun Shimin's calligraphy works and deeds successively, which aroused great repercussions in the society.
The value of life is nothing more than a successful career. In the past, with persistence, painstaking efforts and sweat, Mr. Sun Shimin erected his own banner in the talented China book world. Now, the philosopher is gone, but his calligraphy art will be passed down forever. ...
