There are many hooks and paintings in calligraphy, and the writing methods are also diverse and varied.
(1) Vertical hook. The vertical hooks in running script are smoother and more refreshing than regular script. The method of writing is to write vertical strokes first, then at the end, adjust the stroke to the left and down, pause for a moment, and use the force of the wrist to hook upward to the left. The strokes are thick and powerful. Such as the vertical hook of the word "Zhi" in the picture on the right. In "Wen Fu", some vertical hooks are not upward to the left, but flat to the left, making them appear round and thick. Such as the vertical hook of the word "Yu" in the picture on the right.
(2) Horizontal hook. The horizontal strokes in "Wen Fu" are distinctive. They are written in a round shape, with a square shape within a circle. For example, in the picture on the right, there is a horizontal hook between the characters "cha" and "ji". The specific method of writing is to start writing horizontally, then lift the pen at the end to make it as strong as an iron wire. After turning the pen, use force to hook it down to the left without exposing the edges.
(3) Ge hook, also known as oblique hook. The writing method of Ge Gou in "Wen Fu" is similar to that of regular script, but it is more casual than regular script. As shown in the picture on the right, the hook drawing of the word "知" and the word "OR". The slope and curvature of this kind of hook stroke should not be too large. When writing, you should pay special attention to the center of gravity of the words, and finally return to the upper right side to draw the hook and close the pen.
(4)Horizontal folding hook. This kind of hook painting in running script is generally folded in a circle, with a slightly square shape in the circle and no edges and corners. There is no pause when the hook is drawn out, but it directly takes advantage of the momentum to strike upward and to the left. In addition, this hook can be divided into high and short. For example, the character "ER" in the picture on the right is a short horizontal folding hook, which is long horizontally and short vertically, and has a large slope when folded down; while the character "GU" is a high horizontal folding hook. It is straighter after folding down.
(5) Lying hook. The writing method of this kind of hook painting is the same as that of regular script. As shown in the picture on the right, the hooks between the words "Yi" and "Ying". The writing method is to enter the paper along the front, from light to heavy, with the front slanting and the back flat, taking an arc. There is no need to adjust the pen tip when hooking out, just hook directly to the upper left and forcefully, but it must be written firmly and powerfully, and in line with the middle. A bit of echo.
(6) Vertical hook. In "Wen Fu", there are two types of hooks: hooks and hooks, but they must be written vigorously and elastically. The writing method is to start writing vertically, then turn the pen to the right and then move the pen to the center of the word or the lower stroke. The hook should be small and sharp. As shown in the picture on the right, the hook drawing of the word "you".
(7) Bend the hook horizontally, as shown in the picture on the right for the word "Bottle". Its writing method is lighter and smoother than that of regular script, and it is completed in one breath without any breaks in the middle.
