Li Yu (937-978) was the empress of the Southern Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. The word is heavy, Zhong Yin. When he ascended the throne, Song Taizu and Zhao Kuangyin had proclaimed themselves emperors for three years, and the Song Dynasty destroyed Houshu and Nanhan successively. The situation in the Southern Tang Dynasty was in jeopardy. Ten years after he succeeded to the throne, he was relegated to Jiangnan, renamed the monarch (Li Houzhu in the world), and sent envoys to the Song Dynasty. Li Yu is a superstitious Buddhist who only hopes to survive by paying tribute to the Song Dynasty every year. In the seventh year of Song Taizu Kaibao (974), the Song Dynasty sent Cao Bin to lead a southern expedition, captured Jinling the following year, and captured Li Yu to Bianjing. In 978, Song Taizong was poisoned.

Li Yu is good at writing ci, describing the corrupt life of the court and his style is flashy. After entering Bianjing, his poems were full of feelings about life experiences, which made him sad. Later generations combined his poems with those of his father Li Jing (the master of the Southern Tang Dynasty) into two main poems in the Southern Tang Dynasty, and The History of the Song Dynasty and the History of the Five Dynasties were circulated. He is good at calligraphy, painting, melody, poetry and writing, especially at words. Famous articles throughout the ages, such as "when is the spring flower and the autumn moon" and "crying at night, the wind and rain last night". Known as the "Ci Emperor".
