What is Wang Xizhi's achievement?

Wang Xizhi's achievement is calligraphy attainments.

Wang Xizhi loved calligraphy since childhood and was enlightened by his father Wang Kuang and his uncle Wang Biao. Wang Xizhi studied under Mrs. Wei (aunt) in his early years. Wang Xizhi is good at changing from one teacher to another. When he broke away from Mrs. Wei's calligraphy, he was already at a new historical level. Wang Xizhi constantly broadened his horizons, studied extensively, and explored the source of enlightenment.

Wang Xizhi exhausted all kinds of different brushstrokes of seal script in the Qin and Han Dynasties in the Expo, and all of them were integrated into the real cursive script, thus forming the best posture of his time, bringing forth the old and opening up a new world for future generations. This is why Wang Xizhi is highly regarded as "combining all laws and preparing one family".

Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Collection of Lanting was highly praised by calligraphers of all ages. Wang Xizhi is good at all aspects of Li, Cao, Kai and Xing. He studies the body, imitates the hand, absorbs the strengths of others, prepares the body, and melts in one furnace. He got rid of the style of writing in Han and Wei dynasties and had a far-reaching influence.

Wang Xizhi was called a "book saint" by later generations, which shows how high his attainments in calligraphy are. Wang Xizhi's research and practice in calligraphy are admired by later generations. Wang Xizhi integrated different font writing methods into his running script, gradually formed his own understanding of calligraphy, and opened up a new world for future generations.
