Xun Huisheng's past in Wu Changshuo

Wu Changshuo loves Peking Opera and enjoys the friendship of poetry and painting with Mei Lanfang, a master of Peking Opera. Someone has said this, but he also has many contacts with another Peking Opera master Xun Huisheng, but he has never said it in a special article. Here is a brief supplement.

Xun Huisheng is the founder of Xun School of Peking Opera. Xun Huisheng, Mei Lanfang, Cheng, Cheng School and Ga Xiaoyun are also known as the "Four Famous Dancers" of Peking Opera. In the past, many famous singers were proficient in poetry and songs and liked painting and calligraphy. For example, Mei Lanfang, Cheng and Zhen Zhenfei are all good at it.

192 1 autumn, Xun Huisheng went to Shanghai to perform. Because he admired Wu Changshuo's calligraphy and painting art, he took his own book album and asked Wu Changshuo for help under the recommendation of calligrapher Liu. Wu Changshuo has always liked Peking Opera. Seeing that Xun Huisheng, 2 1 year-old, is not only good at Peking Opera, but also interested in the art of calligraphy and painting, I attached great importance to it. He happily read the album and happily gave guidance and inspiration, which greatly inspired Xun Huisheng. Since then, I have been worshipping Wu Changshuo as an apprentice.

Two years later, 1923, the first day of the eighth lunar month, was Wu Changshuo's eightieth birthday. Many friends and disciples stayed at China Villa on Haining Road, Northwest Road of Shanghai Mountain. At that time, guests gathered and the atmosphere was warm, and friends and relatives exchanged poems and paintings. Xun Huisheng and Mei Lanfang are often present when performing Peking Opera. In addition to singing "Ma Gu Xian Shou", Xun Huisheng also co-performed with Yuan Mei's singing "Chasing the Head and Stabbing the Soup", while Mei Lanfang sang Xun Huisheng's famous drama "Picking up the Jade Bracelet" in reverse. In addition, Rong Boming sang "Drunk Imperial concubine" and the painter Xiong Songquan sang "Huarong Road", which brought a lot of happiness and laughter to Wu Changshuo's eightieth birthday.

1In the spring of March, 927, Xun Huisheng went to Shanghai to perform and paid tribute to Wu Changshuo at Yipin Xiang. At that time, many famous artists attended. Wu Changshuo was filled with joy when he saw that Xun Huisheng was young and interested in calligraphy and painting. In October of the same year, I presented a poem saying, "Yue Xian Gone with the Wind." At this point, Xun Huisheng was officially listed as a disciple of Wumen.

Unexpectedly, Xun Huisheng only introduced it for more than a month. In the same year 1 1 29th, Wu Changshuo died at the age of 84. Xun Huisheng heard the bad news and rushed to Shanghai from Beiping. He threw himself on Wu Changshuo and cried. Although Wu Changshuo passed away, Xun Huisheng and Wu's descendants kept going back and forth, and their friendship continued.

From about 1960 to 1962, Xun Huisheng arrived in Shanghai and defected to the Wu family. While chatting with Wu Changshuo's third son, Wu Dongmai, two little girls suddenly came in. The oldest is only in his early teens, and the youngest is only about ten years old. She has fair skin and delicate eyes, and is very lively and lovely. It turns out that she is Wu Dongmai's two granddaughters. The older one is Wu Dongmei, and the younger one is Wu Youwen. Xun Huisheng liked them very much and immediately said to Wu Dongmei, "Opera should also be sung from primary school. Come on, come with me to Beijing.

The two girls are at a loss. Wu Dongmai looked at the two innocent and lovely little granddaughters, but she could not bear to let them go after all.

However, their father Wu Changye often goes to Beijing. Every time I go to Beijing, I will visit Xun Huisheng's house and stay at his house. Many years later, Wu Changye talked about Xun Huisheng as if it were just yesterday. He said: "Xun Huisheng's wife, surnamed Zhang, is a student of Peking University. During the Cultural Revolution, Xun was criticized. She escaped in the snowy night, but was covered with snow because of her old age and physical decline. When it was dug out, people were already dead, which was very miserable. " (Sun Qinan)
