Lu Yifei (1908-1997) was an outstanding master of Chinese flower-and-bird painting and an outstanding art educator. A native of Changshu, Jiangsu. The name is Chong, the first character is Yifei. Lu Yifei, whose given name is Yuzhong, whose courtesy name is Yifei, whose nickname is Feiweng, and whose living name is Chonglan Cottage. He studied at Suzhou Taohuawu Middle School in his early years, but later dropped out of school due to illness and studied flower and bird painting from Li Xishan. Later, he became a disciple of Wu Hufan and participated in the "Mei Jing Bookstore" art exhibition three times.
In 1956, he was appointed as one of the first batch of painters at the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy. In the early 1960s, he was hired by Dean Pan Tianshou and has been employed as a professor at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts ever since.
