Namo" is the transliteration of the Sanskrit Namas, pronounced as Namo, and also translated as "Namo", "Namo", etc. It means to pay tribute, to pay homage, to return to fate. It is the whole-hearted surrender of Buddhist believers. The term "Buddha" is often used before the names of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas or the titles of scriptures to express respect and devotion to Buddha and Dharma, such as Namo Amitabha, Namo Three Treasures, etc. Amitabha is the Buddha's. The name comes from the transliteration of Sanskrit. "Amitabha" means "infinite" or "infinite" in Sanskrit, and "Namo" means "昄义" in Sanskrit. People who are about to die recite "Namo Amitabha". ", he will take your soul to the Land of Ultimate Bliss. It means "infinite light", "infinite life", etc., etc., etc. It refers to the wisdom, compassion, and supernatural powers of Amitabha, which are immeasurable and cannot be explained clearly in words
This Buddha's name is the most common, and almost everyone can recite it, but even though they can recite it, they don't know what it means, why they should recite it, what are the benefits of reciting it, and how do I recite it now? I need to explain them one by one so that everyone can understand!
First, there are six characters in this Buddha's name. The two characters "Na" on the head mean "return to one's destiny" and "return to the Buddha's teachings"; It is against the law. It also means surrendering one's life to the Buddha, which means being very loyal and filial. Some people say that "Nawu" means "no", which is a big joke. "A" means "no". The word "Buddha" means a very wise person; the word "Amitabha" means a Buddha. The life span of this Buddha is tens of millions of years and has no limit. His light is so great that it can reach endless worlds in the sky, and there is no limit to it. In addition, all kinds of merit are so great and wonderful that they have no limit, so he is called the Buddha without limit. The Buddha lives in the Land of Ultimate Bliss. In his world, there is no suffering at all, but there is endless happiness. People who are reborn there will be extremely safe and comfortable, so it is also called the Amitabha Buddha. The leader of Anyang Kingdom is the same as the leader of Sakyamuni Buddha in our world. Although they are similar, in terms of lifespan and the light emitted from his body, Amitabha Buddha is much greater than Sakyamuni Buddha. .
Secondly, why should we recite it? People say that those who practice should naturally recite it. So, I have to ask you: Why do we need to practice when we are born in this world? , clothing, and use are all cultivated in the past life. If you don’t cultivate in this life, you will not have food and clothing in the next life. Although this sentence is not bad, if you want to have food and clothing in the next life, it also depends on whether you can give in this life? If you eat others, you will have food in the next life; if you clothe others in this life, you will have clothing in the next life. You can get this kind of blessing even if you don't recite the Buddha's name. I still don't know the truth about why you should recite the Buddha's name. It is a miserable world. We are all subject to all kinds of constraints, all kinds of persecutions, and all kinds of entanglements, and we are very uncomfortable. Life is short, food and clothing are hard to come by, flesh and blood are smelly, and there are very few good people. Those who are ambitious must take care of themselves. People in this world try to save people, but unfortunately they themselves are also trapped by this world. It's too late to save yourself, so how can you save others? If you have the ambition to save others by yourself, you must go to the Land of Ultimate Bliss, receive the teachings of Amitabha Buddha, and acquire the skills of a Bodhisattva, and then return to the world, and you will be able to come up with various methods to save our compatriots; in fact, For this principle of saving oneself and saving others, one must recite Buddha’s name. This great principle of saving all sentient beings was originally spoken by Sakyamuni Buddha. When the Buddha taught people in our world, he saw that people in the world did not have a strong foundation to practice according to the Buddha's teachings. Even if they could, it would take countless ages before they could succeed. If the years are too far apart, it is inevitable that we will not retreat midway and seek the opportunity to achieve cultivation in one lifetime. We can only be born in the world of Amitabha in the next life. Therefore, we are taught to recite the name of the Buddha in his world and form a bond with him early. Then when it comes to destiny At the end of the day, Amitabha Buddha will come to say hello in person, or send a Buddha or Bodhisattva to greet me. At this time, if my thoughts are firm and unchanging, I will immediately be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This sentence was personally told by Sakyamuni Buddha to the 1,250 great Bodhisattvas at the Gion Dharma Assembly. It allows those here who vow to be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss, regardless of men, women, old or young, as long as they are sincere in their hearts and recite them with their mouths. Amitabha, who did not slack off in the end, led them all to rebirth and fulfilled their aspirations. This great wish was made by Amitabha himself. Amitabha Buddha's forty-eight great wishes to save all sentient beings seem to have turned into a forty-eight ship. In the sea of ??suffering in the Saha world, no matter whether it is upwind or downwind, people are heard pleading desperately, and even if they hear the sound, they will go to save them. Therefore, everyone always remembers the six words Namo Amitabha. Recite it in your heart and mouth, and decide that everyone will succeed in all your endeavors.
Third, let’s talk about the benefits of chanting Buddha’s name. The benefit in the future is that you can be reborn in his world. His world is called bliss, and everything is naturally good. Let’s briefly talk about it now: one is to escape the suffering of reincarnation forever; the other is that the life span is unlimited, just like the Buddha. One is to enjoy all the blessings that cannot be enjoyed in this world, such as the ground is full of rare treasures, all the birds of wisdom can preach the wonderful way, all the walking trees can play the perfect sound, and food and clothing are abundant at will. Don't use your mind. The body is transformed from a lotus flower and has shed all the stinky skin. Moreover, there is no one in this paradise who is not a practitioner. Many have great Bodhisattva qualifications, and we can be friends with them. Such a convenient thing is difficult to find in other worlds. As for the benefits we have talked about so far, it is what is said in the Buddhist scriptures: Those who recite the Buddha's name will always be protected by the powerful gods of the heavens day and night. There are also twenty-five great Bodhisattvas, such as Avalokitesvara, Mahasthamaprapta, and other Bodhisattvas, who, together with all the Dharma protectors, always take care of them; and the Buddhas guard their thoughts day and night, just like a loving mother caring for her beloved son. Amitabha Buddha always shines brightly and illuminates Keep this person in mind, so that he will always be blessed. All evil ghosts and gods, as well as those Yakshas and Rakshasas, will not be able to harm him. All poisonous snakes and evil beasts will not dare to act recklessly. All floods, fires, enemies, thieves, pestilences, swords, prisons, prisons, and other disasters will be a waste of time. None of them can be tolerated; all the sins committed in the past, whether in this life or in previous lives, can be written off in one stroke. Even dreaming at night is very peaceful. Or dream about Amitabha Buddha’s wonderful body. In addition, people who recite the Buddha's name are always happy, their faces are bright, their energy is strong, and everything they desire will be auspicious. Moreover, those who recite the Buddha's name are compassionate after all. Even if they still have some bad tempers and have not been completely purified, they can still realize their own mistakes and repent bravely. This person has such morality, which is beyond reach; all these benefits are exclusive to those who recite the Buddha's name. Don't underestimate this sentence of Amitabha. Some people say: If you recite Buddha's name and become a ghost after death, you can use it as money. This sentence is so ridiculous! Needless to say whether it can be used as money. Those of us who recite the Buddha's name should never have the intention of becoming ghosts after death; because the status of ghosts is one level lower than that of humans, those who are determined to recite the Buddha's name should not struggle with the suffering of being a human being and the suffering of reincarnation. Once the bliss of the afterlife is over, and this important matter of life and death has come to an end, we should be determined to move forward. How can we be willing to retreat? Moreover, it is difficult to hear the Buddha's Dharma in the ghost world. If you go to the ghost world, wouldn't you have thrown away a lot of the time you spent reciting the Buddha's name during your lifetime? You need to know: Everyone who recites Buddha's name should be reborn in the Buddha's land. Of course, reciting Buddha's name also has benefits during life; after all, the benefits are those who are reborn in the Paradise of Paradise in the next life. Don't get it wrong!
Fourth, the rules of chanting Buddha’s name. First, let’s talk about the method of reciting the Buddha’s name regularly: you need to offer a Buddha statue (or a picture), which can be facing south or east. When reciting, first burn incense in front of the Buddha statue, offer flowers (light candles are optional) or fresh fruits, and after making offerings and bowing, recite first
The golden appearance of Amitabha Buddha's body is so bright and unparalleled
The white hairs are spinning. Five cyanotic eyes clear the four oceans
The countless millions of Bodhisattvas who have transformed into the light are also boundless
The forty-eight vows to save all living beings and the nine-level salty order to reach the other shore
Namo Amitabha, the Great Compassionate and Compassionate Buddha in the Western Paradise of Ultimate Bliss (Recite this point and bow, then stand up and recite the Buddha's name.)
Namo Amitabha (Recite at least four or five hundred times in a row, or as many as tens of thousands of times at will. )
After reciting, bow again, stand up, kneel in front of the Buddha, and then continue to recite the Three Bodhisattvas.
Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (three voices)
Namo Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva (three voices)
Namo Bodhisattva of the Pure Ocean (three voices)
Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (three voices) p>
Stand up again, pray again, and that’s it. Kneel down again and read the vows downwards.
(A simple twelve-line verse)
I now recite the name of Amitabha, the Buddha of true merit and virtue
I only hope that mercy will be with me, that I will receive enlightenment, repentance, and my wishes
All the evil deeds I have committed in the past were all due to beginningless greed, anger and ignorance
I now repent of everything I have done with my body, speech and mind
May I eradicate everything before my death. All obstacles
When you meet the Buddha Amitabha, you will be reborn in the land of peace and happiness
After thinking about it, bow three times and retreat.
