Kai, originally the name of a tree, is Pistacia chinensis, with sparse and indomitable branches, thus extending the meanings of "tall and straight", "model", "French" and "Kai". In this sense, "regular script" actually refers to those neat books. No matter what era, all neat calligraphy at that time can be described as regular script.
