Don't pursue other people's fonts, they have other people's styles that you can't learn.
Practicing calligraphy, starting with founder fonts, I think it should be official script and regular script, which is relatively simple.
There are several factors that make the words look bad. One is that the font is bad, that is, the strokes are not smooth. The other is poor arrangement and small size. It depends on what you belong to.
My personal suggestion is to buy Wei Bei, not necessarily writing in brush, but practicing pen or pencil according to the font.
The most important thing is the order of strokes, and the words in reverse strokes are ugly and comfortable.
