Yan Fu Reconstruction of Chenshangshu Temple in Fuzhou

Of the five Shangshu temples left in Fuzhou's history, Yeung Yi's Shangshu Ancestral Temple was built the earliest, so it was called "Ancestral Temple", and the other four places were separated from here.

The ancestral temple in Yang Qi has undergone many vicissitudes and reconstructions. Over time, it is still broken. In A.D. 19 19/month, Yan Fu, a great thinker, personally wrote "Rebuilding the Ancestral Temple of Shangshu" out of admiration for the national hero Chen. With the strong support of the local people, a board of directors composed of 36 members was set up to start the renovation work, and * * * raised more than 65,438+million silver dollars for the renovation. The rebuilt Shangshu Ancestral Temple covers an area of 3,805 square meters, surrounded by gray brick walls, and there are "horse halls" on both sides of the door wall. There are stage, dining room, bell and drum tower, patio, central pavilion, hall, music hall and so on. Inside the gate wall, the whole temple is covered with overlapping eaves and carved beams and painted buildings, which is spectacular. The temple has four entrances and three halls side by side. The middle hall is dedicated to the King and the Minister of Water Affairs, and the left is the Yulin Palace, dedicated to Chen Jinggu, the wife of Linshui. Feng Ming Temple and Guanyin Pavilion are behind the palace. On the right is the Suzhong Temple, which is dedicated to Chen. The entrance of the main hall is inlaid with bluestone squares, engraved with four vigorous regular script characters of "Shangshu Ancestral Hall" written by Yan Fu, and engraved with stone carvings of "Emperors' Memories of Past Dynasties". There are more than 65,438+00 couplets in the main hall, all written by famous ministers and scholars, including Guo Shangxian, Lin Hongnian, Lin Zexu, Chen, Yan Fu, Zheng, Ye Dazhuang, Li Hou Ji, Sa Zhenbing and Wu Ji? , strict, etc. Calligraphy and thread grass are all available, and every place is full of fun, adding endless brilliance to the ancestral hall. The horizontal plaques hanging in each temple are also inscribed by celebrities, which are both beautiful and add some historical and cultural value. The architectural art in the temple is first-class, which is from the hand of the famous craftsman Jiang Yuancheng. The 20 square polished bluestones on the stage skirt were painted with blue bamboo by Putian Jinshi, the right assistant minister of the Ministry of Rites and the famous painter Guo Shangxian.

There are seven stone tablets in front of the ancestral temple of Shangshu, which are important historical relics and are the physical materials for studying the temple of Chenshangshu.
