Ji'an City is located in the central and western part of Jiangxi Province, on the middle reaches of the Gan River. Ji'an City is a city divided into districts under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province.
Ji’an is home to Jinggangshan, the world-famous cradle of revolution. In ancient times, it was called Luling and Jizhou. In the first year of Emperor Qing's reign (1312), it was collectively called Ji'an by taking the first characters of Jiyang and Ancheng.
