In addition to official script, the regular script in Huan Ling Chao is followed by the eight-point method, so people think that running script is another branch of the eight-point method.
In fact, it is the same as other calligraphy styles. It was originally founded as a general mass writer. As long as it is written in other calligraphy, it becomes a running script without official style. It can be seen everywhere in bamboo slips unearthed at the end of Han Dynasty. At the end of Han dynasty, running script was not widely used. It was not until the appearance of Wang Xizhi in Jin Dynasty that it became popular.

Because of "indulgence", the height, width and area of running script characters are different, even very different. Therefore, the running script adopts the composition of vertical lines and horizontal columns. Because the number of words in a line is not fixed, it is allowed to write very long; Because there is a certain extension space in the horizontal direction, writing is allowed to be very wide. In this way, the running script has a relatively free creative space in the font structure.
