How to Improve Students' English Writing

In middle school English teaching, we should expose students to English as much as possible, give them more understandable language input through audio-visual, listening and reading, improve their ability to accept, understand and process information, exercise their English thinking, association, imagination, judgment and speculation, and enhance their language analysis and processing ability, thus enriching English storage, strengthening language knowledge and promoting language expression and creation. However, it is impossible for students to master English completely and form the ability to use English comprehensively only by language input. It is also necessary to test and promote language absorption and thinking ability through oral and written expression. Therefore, we should not only pay attention to language input, but also pay attention to effective output practice.

In daily English teaching, I attach great importance to students' writing training. After 35 minutes of class, the students have completed the intense teaching task, and listening, speaking and reading activities make the students look very tired. At this time, with appropriate writing training, the whole class will be combined with static and dynamic, so that students can effectively realize language output. In writing training, teachers should avoid overemphasizing receptive learning, simple mechanical imitation, rote memorization and mechanical training. Menu 1: Traditional Writing

In teaching, mechanical training of writing is still essential. Clarify the eight-character principle of writing: "combination, fullness and inclination" to guide students' writing. Therefore, we must demonstrate in place so that students can imitate and correct their writing in time. Within five minutes, be sure to state the requirements in advance, such as the size of homework paper, writing format, pen type, etc. Students are not allowed to ask questions and make mistakes again, which not only saves time, but also meets the unified requirements after repeated training. It is difficult for students to remember words. Students are bored and have a high error rate, which affects their enthusiasm for learning English. Therefore, I ask students to write silently in teaching, which is far worse than copying. Copying can't be limited to simple mechanical copying. Teachers should change their methods to stimulate students' interest in writing. I often ask students to classify words by themselves and accumulate classified words with small notes; Ask the students to open their books and find some words to write, compare the speed, train the students' word memory and increase the number of times they look at the word list. The types of words to be copied include words such as fruit, word solitaire, words with only four letters, and words with letters such as A. Teachers can preview the content of the next lesson according to the content of this lesson and adapt to the arrangement of copying content.

Word learning is inseparable from spelling, and copying blindly is very boring. Students can freely create words with their hands, mouths and brains in combination with classroom content. Beginners of English can design cartoon letter shows while learning letters; When learning words, do you think students can make origami to digest words, then fold them and write on them, which can be used as the object of speaking words in the next class? After learning subject words and daily life arrangements, you can design a novel course and schedule, which can be boldly designed, imaginative, displayed or used for your own use; In case of festivals, guide students to make greeting cards, provide English holiday greetings and let students express their blessings. These hands-on activities not only make students like it, but also achieve the purpose of writing training and stimulate their interest in learning English. Menu 4: Full Display

After some training, students' writing ability has been greatly improved. In daily writing, students' individual needs cannot be met. Therefore, we can hold competitions and other activities to show students' writing ability. For example, students' works can be used as part of the class wall newspaper after selection, giving students sufficient display space; Hold a small-scale "calligraphy expert" competition, so that students can complete the writing content within the specified time, sort by time, eliminate the mistakes and reward the top ten students; You can also use campus English Festival and other activities to hold colorful writing competitions, such as cartoon letter show, super word power, handwritten newspaper competition and so on.
