Qin 'an Historical Celebrity-Hu Maozong-Brief Introduction

Hu Maozong, a famous scholar, poet and calligrapher

Hu (1480- 1560) was born in Qin' an county, with filial piety and another name, Kequan. He was a poet and writer in the Ming Dynasty, as well as Gansu and Li Mengyang.

Legend has it that Hu is the satellites in the sky. When he was a child, he went to a private school. Because of his thin body, he was often bullied by his classmates. He often cleans the classroom. At that time, the private school was located in the land temple. One day, while sweeping the floor, Hu swept the ground in front. By the way, when he lifted his feet, the mud legs of the earth god really lifted up. After sweeping the ground, he picked up a brush and wrote on the back of the land: "Land, land, punish you for carrying soil in Yunnan for three years." That night, the teacher of a private school had a dream that an old man with a white beard said to him, "I am old and weak, and Yunnan is far away." Please tell Lord Dutang not to let me go to Yunnan to carry soil. " The next day, Mr. Wang came to the private school and saw what the old man said to him in the dream, written behind the land Lord. So he pretended to be angry and said to the whole class, who wrote the words on the back of the land god yesterday? The students thought that Hu had caused a great disaster and said that he had written it. Mr. Wang was very surprised and secretly paid special attention to Hu. When he grew up, Hu really became a court official.

There is also a legend about Hu. It is said that one night, Hu finished his work and came home late. He met an old woman with a portable basket at the corner. Hu asked the old woman, "What are you doing in my alley so late?" The old woman said, "I'm here to spread flowers." Nuts: "Go, people in our lane don't want to spend." With that, he knocked the basket to the ground and fell on a big stone. The old woman came to sprinkle smallpox, and as a result, all the smallpox was knocked over by Hu, and she was scolded by Hu and went back with an empty basket. The next day, people found bubbles all over the ground on a big stone at the entrance of Hujiaxiang. Since then, people in Hujiaxiang have never suffered from smallpox.

Hu studied hard and dabbled in a wide range under the education of his father Shi Ji since childhood. At the age of twenty, he went to Xi 'an to take the provincial examination and won the prize. Twenty-nine-year-old Jinshi went to Beijing. Because of his excellent performance, he was supposed to win the third prize (flower exploration), but he was reduced to one of the top three because of corruption of powerful ministers. Later, due to the persuasion of the great scholar Li Dongyang and others, the emperor agreed to grant him a biography (meeting with Hua Tan), so Qin 'an Confucian Temple was inlaid with a plaque of "Phoenix Pool". Later, he was awarded and reviewed by imperial academy, and participated in the compilation of Filial Piety Records. He has served as the magistrate of Anqing and Suzhou in the south of the Yangtze River, the governor of Shandong and Henan, and the right deputy capital of Douchayuan. Hu is an official who "respects the people and loves the scholars and focuses on the present". When Anqing was promoted to Suzhou magistrate, Anqing people were reluctant to part with him. "Thousands of people climbed the shaft and cried." "Honest diagnosis and treatment is named after Kuang Zhong", and the emperor himself named it "Dr. Zhong Xian". At the age of sixty, he ended his career. At the age of seventy-one, he was falsely accused by Wang Lian, the county magistrate, and his father (the father and son were flogged by Hu Maozong for dereliction of duty in Jiajing twenty-eight years, and they always held a grudge against Hu Maozong) that "the eyes of the tortoise fly in the air, and the emperor's tears do not grind".

Hu's works are numerous, including Collection of Birds, Rats and Mountain People, Collection of Mountain People in Houshu, Quasi-Ya Weng's Antique Yuefu, Quasi-Han Yuefu, Willing to Learn, Anqing Fu Zhi, Zhi, Qin and Han Dynasties, Chanting and so on. His works widely reflected the social reality at that time, expressed deep sympathy for the persecuted upright literati, cared about the sufferings of the people, and praised the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. Another series of "Summary of Birds, Rats and Mountain People" in the General Catalogue of Sikuquanshu says: Hu's poems are "passionate and tragic, quite close to three fat. There is no charm, it is its strength, and the rough voice is its shortcoming. "

Hu's calligraphy is vigorous and fluent, and he is also a great master in the Ming Dynasty. Many famous temples in China have their own handwriting. He used to be a big plaque in the book Harmony with Heaven and Earth in Fuxi Temple in Tianshui. Today, on the wall of Zhao Ying in Qiao Shan, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, a handsome and vigorous book tablet is conspicuously inlaid: "Don't make waves at sea", and the inscription is "Tianshui Hu Yizong's book". The plaque of "Jin Sheng Yu Zhen" hangs on the first archway in front of Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province. Suzhou Huqiu has a seal script "Thousands of People Sit". There is Baotu Spring in Jinan, Shandong Province. Xingguo temple Prajna Hall in Qin 'an has a huge Prajna plaque. During his tenure in Suzhou, Hu Maozong laid a tombstone for Tang Bohu.

Hu was an influential figure in the Ming Dynasty. As He Dong, a native of Chang 'an, said in his epitaph: "The economy is magnificent, and the political achievements are hanging in the past; Learning from the original Han, the book is passed down today. " In the thirty-ninth year of Jiajing (1560), he died at home on September 3rd at the age of 8 1.
