Yuan Zi studied under Confucianism, Yan Xiu and others, and was deeply influenced by them. Besides, he works hard, so he is an expert in poetry, music, calligraphy and painting. Yan Xiu is known as the four great calligraphers in modern Guinness (namely Hua Shikui, Meng Guanghui, Yen Hsiu and Zhao Yuanli). As his disciple, Ke Wen got his true biography. His original works, cursive script, official script and seal script are all exquisite and fluent.

In the past, Wu Maocai had a valuable book "Lanting Post in the Water", which was very rare. Because Wu is a wealthy family, he has a postscript and is rarely a bachelor. This post is from Yang's residence in Haiyuange. Besides, there are two letters written by Bao Shenbo and Ding Jianqing to Yang about "Lanting Post in Water". During the flood, Wu wrote a letter to dissuade the imperial system, which caused several accidents by a group of slaves who were keen on the imperial system. So, Wu Huai's ancestral "Falling Water Lanting Post" was sold to Wang Shitong. Wang is an expert in discerning goods. After leaving Wu for a casual meal, he enjoyed this post carefully. It happened that Yuan was visiting, and Wang told him about it. Kevin generously said, "I am willing to send you to Tianjin and then go back to the south by boat." Yuan left the "Lanting Station in the Water" and accompanied Wu Maocai to Qianmen Station. However, when he arrived at the station, Yuan Cai found himself empty and penniless, so he had to borrow five yuan from his servant to buy a ticket to send Wu Maocai to Tianjin. Wu Maocai sighed with emotion: "The Lanting post in the water should be renamed as the Lanting post with a life of five yuan." When Yuan came back, he couldn't put it down, copied it every day, and wrote Wu's jokes on the post entitled "Five Yuan One Life Lanting Post". When Wu returned home, he retired from the school in the village. When Duan was in power, someone invited Wu Maocai to go north to participate in politics. Wu Jian resigned and said, "I don't have a second book, and besides, there is no second son of Han Yun in the world. Five yuan is hard to come by, but once in a lifetime. I will never go to Beijing again. " This post was later rolled into Yu Youren's hands, which is a literary anecdote.

Yuan's font is beautiful, detached and unpretentious. There are both clouds and the heart of spring stone, which is natural and extraordinary. He was ashamed of getting ink everywhere when he was in a good mood. He hung up his pen and cooked words to satisfy his hunger. Every time he goes south, he comes with a fat horse and light hair, and pawns everything when he goes back. He is a playboy and doesn't want to ask for help. There is only one way, selling words. One year, when he was in Shanghai, he stayed at Dadong Hotel, but he couldn't stand it. He published a book, and Fang Dishan, Xuan Grain Rain, Zhang Danfu, Feng, Fan Junbo, Yu Daxiong and others made a list for him. Master Han Yun is familiar with ancient books and absorbs the essence of Han and Wei San. The poorer the owner is, the harder he works, and he has traveled all over the rivers and lakes, and the book seeker is not far away.
In the summer of the Republic of China 16 (1927), before returning to the north, I made my own bills to attract Xiaoyun: I traveled to the south in March, stayed at sea overnight, and the first floor was lonely and my bags were bleak. He was already laughing at the banner, and he was more worried about rice and books, so he used it to show his respect. This winter, he returned to Tianjin in the north, probably running out of money, so he published an advertisement "Leng Yun sells words" in Beiyang Pictorial:
Screen, portrait and banner are two yuan per foot, and half a piece of paper is one yuan per foot. The folding fan is six yuan each, either too big or too small. All of the above are based on running script, seal script is twice as much as straight script, and regular script and official script are half each. Let's not discuss it. Yuan was adopted by Shen Shi since he was a child, so it's really easy for one person to get double inheritance. In fact, most of Yuan's property is in the hands of his wife. Liu is afraid of being extravagant and unwilling to spend all his money. So for the livelihood of future generations, he took the money and didn't give him flowers. Yuan is only a figurehead, so he has to do some sideline work to make his money more abundant.
1922, his books were very popular, and a shortened version was published, and forty couplets were written in one day, all of which were sold out. I bought Hu Kaiwen Gu Mo and wrote a hundred couplets to reward my friends.
In the eleventh year of the Republic of China, Chaoshan was devastated by strong winds, and hundreds of thousands of people died. Faced with a serious disaster, Yuan sold his beloved copybook for disaster relief. One is an exquisite rubbings of the jade edition Lanting Tie in the Xuanhe period of the Song Dynasty, with Kevin's autograph as the preface. There is also a folding fan, with ancient gold and silver coins on one side and autographs; One side is the red plum painted by Tang Zhijun.
Yuan's writing style is unique, that is, he can hang up the paper without a desk, and people can pull up both ends. Writing fine print is even more wonderful, because he is too lazy to get up all day, so he lies on his back in bed, holding paper in one hand and writing in the other, writing out of thin air. After writing, I see that the font is beautiful and has no shortcomings of skew and distortion. My friends were all surprised when they saw it. At that time, all kinds of tabloids in Shanghai asked him to write headlines, and some novels also asked him to sign. Once, a man named Tao Hancui asked him to write the cover with his History of the Republic of China, and he closed it with a wave of his hand. Later, when the novel was published and he was given a copy, he greatly regretted it. In the original book, he cursed his father Yuan Shikai and never dared to socialize easily again.
