Wang Duo's Preface to the Sermon of Wang Xizhi, written in the fifth year of the Apocalypse, is more full than the original post, but the words are restrained and timid, and the rules are sparse, giving people a sense of silence. And his big regular script is as thin as before. When we face Wang Duo's large-scale cursive works, we can really be shocked and moved by his powerful brushwork and smooth lines, and sometimes even make you feel thrilling and applaud his powerful clapping. However, any feeling comes from comparison. Watching Zhao Mengfu, Dong Qichang and Wang Duo will naturally shock you, but compared with Fu Shan, who is also a family, Wang Duo's cold side is completely exposed. Wang Duo's cursive script also has the defects of restraint in composition, such as vigorous stippling, a little less clever, and insufficient line thickness, especially the density and compactness of the whole work, which is a far cry from Fu Shan. Wang Duo didn't get rid of this defect until his death. And this phenomenon, I don't know how many people have been cheated, and I don't know how many people have been touched! The seeming excitement of Wang Duo's cursive script can't hide his inner loneliness, nor can his inner loneliness hide his pen and ink. However, because of his liveliness and solid pen and ink skills, he naturally deceived many people, including many calligraphers. With Wang Duo's character, he is definitely not the kind of warrior who drinks knives when he gets cold feet, and he should not write works with strong style, but he just wrote works that are completely opposite to his character. Why? Are books inferior to people? No, Wang Duo's wrong choice in the festival led to infinite pain and remorse, which is consistent with his unbalanced mentality. He chose Miffy upside down. Since he can abandon the great festival and the golden mean in life, he can even ignore the moderate peace in art. His so-called male strength is a timid cry to balance his mentality. We have noticed a phenomenon: Wang Duo's calligraphy works have hardly failed, and his works can be said to be perfect in technique, which is in sharp contrast with his chaotic life. This contrast just shows that he is trying to cover up his clumsy ugliness with perfect artworks. As a result, the cowardly Wang Duo gnashed his teeth and wrote a series of flawless calligraphy masterpieces by Wang Duo. But the panic of the mind can't be concealed by pen and ink. His tight lines reflect his highly nervous mental state. The meticulous overall artistic style embodies a cautious and frightened broken heart.
Bao listed Wang Duo's cursive script in his Yi Zhou Shuang Bian, and it was under the product, just as Qianlong listed him as a second minister and a second minister.
