The origin and development of official script

Official script developed from seal script, which was compiled by Cheng Miao. The seal script is simplified, and the flat and round lines of the seal script become straight strokes, which is convenient for writing. The appearance of official script is another major change in China's writing, which has brought China's calligraphy art into a new realm.

According to legend, the official script was compiled by Cheng Miao in prison at the end of Qin Dynasty. It has been simplified, with the simplification removed, the font changed into a circle and a square, the stroke changed into a straight, and the "Lian Bi" changed into a "broken pen", which makes it easier to write from lines to strokes. "Li Ben" is not a prisoner, but a small official, that is, a small official in charge of documents, so in ancient times, official script was called "Zuo Shu".
