For a leader, there are only two requirements for subordinates: loyalty and ability!
General Zhao Yun in history is not as fantastic as in The Romance, but his heroic deeds in Changbanpo (not going in and out seven times, but escorting Liu Bei's family), retreating Cao from the Hanshui River, and cheating soldiers in Gu are clearly recorded in history. Liu Bei also publicly praised Zhao Yun: "Zilong is brave!" Therefore, there is no doubt about Zhao Yun's ability to lead the army. ?
Zhao Yun and Liu Bei met through Gongsun Zan. They respected each other and shared the same interests. Zhao Yun defected to Liu Bei in Yecheng in the early stage of the battle of Guandu, so this "master" has been called for a lifetime. Legend of the Cloud records that Liu Bei and Zhao Yun "share the same bed". It can be seen that the affection between Zhao Yun and Liu Bei is as deep as Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Therefore, Zhao Yun's loyalty to Liu Bei is beyond doubt. ?
Unlike Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun and Zhang Guan have their own political opinions. They respect Liu Bei as the biggest, followed by Zhuge Liang. Therefore, it is difficult for Zhuge Liang to use 100% to restrain and manage Guan and Zhang. Mainly because of their status and personality, as elders, their status is higher than that of Ge Liang, Guan Yu is aloof and arrogant, and Zhang Fei is violent. To tell the truth, they don't get along well with Zhuge Liang. They are not Zhuge Liang's generals, and whether they like them or not is out of the question.
Zhao Yun is different. Although the Liu Bei brothers treat each other, his background is far less than that of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Liu Bei is a master rather than a brother to him, and he and Zhuge Liang have more similar backgrounds. Moreover, it has always been the overall situation, and it is the bounden duty to obey military orders. After Guan Yu was killed, Zhao Yun supported Zhuge Liang's point of view and tried to dissuade Liu Bei from attacking Wu. After Liu Bei's death, Zhao Yunzun Zhuge Liang became great. For Zhuge Liang's strategic deployment, Zhao Yun has always been obedient and practical. Zhuge Liang also regarded Zhao Yun as a model of the Shu army, and they were all loyal to Shu Han and Jiangshan. It can be seen that Zhao Yun respects Zhuge Liang's personality and admires Zhuge Liang's wisdom.
The words "obey orders and listen to commands" are vividly reflected in General Zhao Yun. ? No matter "official history" or "unofficial history", General Zhao Yun has no stain at all. He is loyal to the monarch and patriotic, not close to women, not greedy for power, and has no political ambitions.
Zhao Yun in the Three Kingdoms, as a general of Shu and the father of the late Liu Chan, was an outstanding figure, but Zhao Yun was loyal to Shu without any selfishness. ?
On the other hand, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong, according to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Ma Chao and his father Ma Teng first betrayed the Han Dynasty and fought with Dong Zhuo. Then he betrayed Dong Zhuo and defected to Cao Cao. During Ma Teng's tenure as an official under Cao Cao, Ma Chao relied on the emperor to make the princes stand on their own feet.
Because of Marten's great influence in Xiliang area, Cao Cao attached great importance to Marten. Marten didn't work it out just now Ma Chao and Han Sui, regardless of their own safety, turned against Cao privately, and Cao Cao killed Marten in a rage.
Ma Chao couldn't resist Cao, so he was desperate and went to Liu Bei. The ambitious Ma Chao not only killed his father Ma Teng, but also ruined his bright future. Ma Chao was not reused after he surrendered to Liu Bei, which shows that Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang have always had bad feelings for Ma Chao.
As for Huang Zhong, although he is not as headstrong as Ma Chao, he is a subordinate of Liu Pan, the nephew of Liu Biao. After Liu Bei and Sun Quan divided Jingzhou, Huang Zhong took refuge in Liu Bei, so Huang Zhong's political identity was not ideal. When Huang Zhong and Ma Chao were made five generals, Guan Yu was quite dissatisfied in his speech. He thinks that Huang Zhong and Ma Chao are not as good as themselves, so Huang Zhong and Ma Chao are unpopular in the eyes of senior officials in Shu.
Moreover, Huang Zhong and Ma Chao joined Shu Camp late, and there were not many opportunities to cooperate with Zhuge Liang on the battlefield. Therefore, Zhuge Liang has no close relationship with Ma and Huang, let alone the word "like".
To sum up, among the five generals, Zhuge Liang admired Zhao Yun the most, followed by Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Huang Zhong and Ma Chao.
