I have been a teacher for 40 years and stayed in our Fuzhou University for 40 years, which can be said to be faithful. What is the standard of a good teacher? In my opinion, the motto given to Beijing Normal University by the famous educator and master of Chinese studies, Mr. Qi Gong 1997, is the most concise and complete summary. Similar generalizations include "learning to be an official", "learning to be an official" and "learning to be an official". The statement is different, but the meaning is the same.

My understanding is that the necessary and sufficient condition for being a good teacher is that a teacher should be highly educated and respected. Among them, learning is natural learning, including internal talent and external talent; Morality is teachers' morality and professional ethics. In other words, teachers should have both superb talent and noble morality.

Only when you study hard can you become a teacher.

"Learning" should be "high", that is, it is better to study both inside and outside. As a university teacher, the inherent talent is mainly manifested in profound academic ability, profound knowledge, profound knowledge, and remarkable achievements in disciplines and majors. In order to reach this level, we should study as much as possible and participate in scientific research practice as much as possible within our own disciplines and specialties. Universities are different from middle schools, so it is particularly important to participate in scientific research practice. They need not only book knowledge, but also the ability to find, ask, analyze and solve problems. It is difficult for people who have not done scientific research to be competent. The reason why I am more popular with students may be mainly because I have made great efforts in combining theory with practice. Except during the Cultural Revolution, my research has been uninterrupted, and I have achieved a series of good results, which have been integrated into teaching, making students feel that they have gained a lot.

For teachers, it is not enough to have good internal talents, but also good external talents. Some teachers are highly educated and do well in scientific research, but they don't speak well in class, so students can't learn knowledge and ability from him and can't get the teaching effect they deserve. "Teacher, preach and teach to solve doubts". What you want to say, what you want to teach and what you want to understand are always expressed through the language you speak, the blackboard books you write and the graphics you draw. If your language is fluent and vivid, your writing on the blackboard is clear and natural, and your drawing is accurate and intuitive, then your talents can be brought into full play, and your teaching effect will be good. A good foreign talent is a teacher who can speak fluent, vivid and even humorous Mandarin, write a clear and elegant blackboard writing and draw accurate and intuitive graphics. An excellent foreign talent depends on long-term hard training and accumulation, which is endless. Therefore, I subscribe to various magazines such as language, literature and calligraphy all the year round, insist on continuous study and training, and learn rhetoric, language art, calligraphy and freehand brushwork to enhance my appeal to students, thus improving the teaching effect. For the teaching information flow that the brain cannot accept in real time, it is not suitable for multimedia. The obvious examples are the proof of theorem, the conception of algorithm, the derivation of formula, and the teaching content that needs complicated thinking in a short time. For a large number of such teaching contents, blackboard writing has a unique advantage. It can closely cooperate with oral discussion, and gradually transmit the teaching content with the information increment that the brain can accept in real time, so that the output of teachers can be synchronized with the input of students, and the best teaching effect can be achieved. Therefore, traditional media such as blackboard writing will not be eliminated, and it is still very meaningful to practice blackboard writing.

Highly respected, early talent.

Another necessary condition for being a good teacher is to be "high in morality", because we teachers shoulder the responsibility of not only teaching, but also educating people and cultivating qualified talents for the construction and development of the country. If you want to educate people, you must set an example for students everywhere and always care about their success.

On the way for students to become talents, I think encouragement is very important, and it has the function of giving them a boost. Encouragement has a miraculous effect on a student whose study is already quite good. Through encouragement, we can further mobilize his potential and make him better and better. And encourage students whose academic performance is not good enough to pay more attention to the bright spots in his study and praise them on appropriate occasions in time. I remember a student majoring in computational mathematics, a sophomore, with average grades. Last semester in my junior year, I gave them a lesson called numerical approximation. In the mid-term exam, I gave an error estimation problem of cubic interpolation spline approximation. This student is very good at this problem, unique and skillful. When marking the paper, I praised the student in class and asked him to demonstrate it again on the blackboard. As a result, he was very encouraged, his confidence doubled and he got immediate results. After the final exam, all subjects have made remarkable progress. By the last semester of his senior year, his grades in all subjects were among the best in his class. Among them, as a teacher, I just paid attention to the paper and praised him when marking it, without spending more energy. It's really four or two kilos, so why not?

Among the students I have taught, I give different guidance to students with different foundations. No matter what level of students, it is good to come to you for advice or guidance. Teachers should be open to everyone, not kissing or being partial, especially not looking down on elementary problems, students with poor foundation and students who hurt their self-esteem. Why I have a good relationship with students is because teachers and students have equal personalities and respect each other. Students respect teachers, and teachers should also respect students. When I have 3-4 classes in the morning, it is already 1 1: 40. Many students often stay to ask questions until 1: 00 in the afternoon, sometimes until 1: 30. My wife often complains, "Do you not eat it yourself or let the students eat it?" I said no, it is understandable that students have questions just after class. Teachers should be considerate of them, or they may forget tomorrow. Such a good student, the problem can't be solved overnight. Where can you find it?

For students whose lives are affected by financial difficulties, and thus their studies, my rescue measures are also treated differently according to different situations. For sudden difficulties, I consider helping to solve them through three channels. First, you can do your best to fund some; Second, report the situation to the relevant departments in time and apply for temporary subsidies; The third is to mobilize students to help each other. For those who have temporary difficulties, we should first help them stabilize their emotions according to the solutions to the temporary difficulties. Then on the one hand, we should encourage them to face up to their difficulties, summon up courage to overcome them and continue their studies. On the other hand, we should help them find ways to be self-reliant and long-term solutions, such as finding software development projects that they can participate in or other ways of work-study programs. Doing so can not only solve the economic difficulties, but also get practical exercise, which is also very beneficial to success.

Only a strict teacher can make a noble apprentice.

As the saying goes, "strict teachers make excellent students." In this sense, strictness is love. On the one hand, the specific purpose of strict requirements is to let students develop good living habits, study habits and work habits; On the other hand, it is to ensure the quality of education. Therefore, strict requirements should be reflected in all aspects of teaching, not just exams. From previewing, attending lectures, reviewing, consulting reference materials, doing homework, course exercises, answering questions at ordinary times, to the final exam, we must be strict. Even the mistakes in students' oral expression and the typos in their homework should be true. Only in this way can we cultivate good habits and ensure quality. One of my students worked in a foreign software company after graduation. At work, the boss found that his documents were particularly well written and standardized, so he asked him where he learned them. He said to his boss, "All this is gradually cultivated under the strict requirements of the teacher."
