Liu Rong Temple is a world-famous ancient temple with a long history. The stupa in the temple is towering, with lush trees and rich cultural relics. Liu Rong Temple, featuring "Liu Rong Flower Pagoda", was rated as one of the top ten tourist attractions in Guangzhou on 1997.

Address: No.87, Liu Rong Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. Opening hours: 8: 00- 17: 00. Take the subway 1 line and get off at gongyuanqian station.

Liu Rong Temple was founded in the third year of Liang Datong (537), originally named Bao Temple, with a history of 1400 years. Destroyed by fire at the beginning of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was rebuilt in the second year of Song Duangong (989) and renamed Jinghui Temple. In the third year of Fu Yuan (1 100), Su Dongpo, a writer and calligrapher, visited the temple and saw six old banyan trees. He happily inscribed the word "six banyan", which was later called the Six Banyan Temple.

There are towering Thousand Buddha Pagodas in the temple, which is a famous ancient building in Guangzhou. To the east of the tower are the Mountain Gate, Maitreya Hall and Wei Tuo Hall. To the west of Tashi, there is the Hall of the Great Hero, dedicated to three bronze buddhas in the second year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1663). These Buddha statues are the largest existing ancient bronze statues in Guangdong Province.

There is a bronze statue of Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen in Rongyin Garden. The Sixth Ancestor was an outstanding monk in the Tang Dynasty and founded the Nanzong School. His bronze statue was cast in the second year of Duangong in the Northern Song Dynasty (989), which is solemn and realistic.

The Hall of the Great Hero, which was built in the Southern Dynasties, faces south with its tower in front. This temple was preserved until the early Ming Dynasty, and was cut off when half of the temple was cut into Yongfengcang in the sixth year of Hongwu (1373).

In the eighth year of Hongwu, the abbot Yu Jian built the Huang Jue Temple (in present-day Tadong), which is the main hall of Liu Rong Temple. There is a long board hanging on the front door, which says "Huang Jue Hall". It was rebuilt several times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and in the 30th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1904), it was awarded a "delicate clock" plaque by the emperor and hung on the temple beam.

In the early Ming Dynasty, only the Thousand Pagodas and Kannonji were left in Jinghui Temple, and the former temple was located in the present Dharma Hall. The reconstructed guanyin temple was completed in February 1988. The new museum is located in the east of Rongyin Garden in front of the Sixth Ancestral Temple, with a building area of 220 square meters and a height of 1 1 m. It is based on the style of Qing dynasty and combines the characteristics of southern temples.
