Brief introduction of Baoshan temple
Baoshan Temple was built in the second year of Liang Datong (536). It is located at Baoshan Wharf in Linwu Cave, Xishan Mountain. Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and the Republic of China burned down successively, and/kloc-0 was forcibly demolished in 972. After the reform and opening up, the temple was restored on 1995 and rebuilt on 1996 with the approval of the Bureau of Religious Affairs, covering an area of 80 mu. After years of ups and downs, Baoshan Temple has more than 400 memorial archways, Maitreya statues, Shanmen Hall, Tianwang Hall, Mahayana Hall, Sutra Hall, Zhaoputa, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Buddhist Hall, Abbot Building, Zhaitang and Liao Fang. According to historical records, the temple was built at the beginning of the Southern Dynasties, originally named Fuyuan Temple, and was officially completed. In the ninth year of Tang Dynasty, Tang Gaozong Li Zhici named this temple "Xianqing Temple"; Because the West Mountain is surrounded by water, it is commonly known as Baoshan, and it is also the largest temple on the mountain. It was named Baoshan Temple by Tang Suzong Hengli. The mountain dock where it is located is also named Baoshan dock, and its name has been used ever since. From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Baoshan Temple was known as the famous temple in the south of the Yangtze River, and many eminent monks emerged, and the temple also experienced many rejuvenating and abolishing. Thanks to the painstaking efforts of the great monk Bùi Tín, the incense of Baoshan Temple is getting more and more prosperous. Bùi Tín, a great monk, was born in Hai 'an County, Jiangsu Province. 1985 converted to Buddhism, 1989 became a monk at Taishan Temple in Dongtai, Jiangsu. He studied at Jiangtian Buddhist College (Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang), Lingyanshan Branch of China Buddhist College and Minnan Buddhist College (Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen). He is currently the abbot of Baoshan Temple, vice chairman of Suzhou Buddhist Association and chairman of Wuzhong Buddhist Association. Master Xinpei loved calligraphy since he was a child. He is now a member of China Couplet Society, China Poetry Society and Jiangsu Calligraphy Association.
