The Creative Background of Lingnan Spring Jujube

In the 1940s, Cai Nufei attended Waipu School. After graduating from high school, he often went to school to ask his teacher for advice, although he dropped out of school because of his pursuit of art and hobbies. Cai, a famous painter and painter in Chaoshan and now honorary president of Shantou Painting Academy, and Chen, a famous musician, are all Cai Nufei's first teachers. After years of hard work, Cai Nufei finally became a middle school teacher, teaching art, music and Chinese in Chenghai Huaqiao Middle School, Subei Middle School, Chenghai Middle School and Bart Middle School respectively.

Works of art have won many awards.

In addition to being busy with teaching, Cai Nufei has long insisted on artistic creation such as Chinese painting, watercolor painting and printmaking. 1959, Cai Nvfei cooperated with painters such as Cai, Li Zhaoquan and Ding Shaoshen, reflecting the new look of Chaoshan Plain. 1960 was selected as a large-scale album of Guangdong fine arts in 10 after attending the Guangdong Fine Arts Exhibition. 1963, a color-coded watermark woodcut of Lingnan Chunxiao created by Cai Nufei won the second prize of the third mass art exhibition in Guangdong Province. The work is based on a kapok tree with red flowers and a group of white geese grazing under the tree. It is colorful and full of artistic appeal. At that time, it was not easy for works to participate in provincial exhibitions and win prizes. Cai Zhaoping, who died young, recalled his father Cai Nufei and said that his father had a special liking for the lion's head all his life. He often goes to Baisha Farm and the place where lion heads are raised near 1970 to play with his father and watch his father concentrate on sketching. Soon, a lifelike lion head came into view, which was very interesting.

During the period of 1978, Cai Nufei's artistic creation entered a mature stage. A picture of a hundred geese created by Cai Nufei was selected and sent to Guangdong Fine Arts Exhibition, which was collected by a Hong Kong collector. Jeff, an old leading cadre in Ji Cheng and the former detachment leader of the fourth detachment of the column in the border region of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi, watched Cai Nufei's picture of hundreds of geese with Chenghai local characteristics at the provincial exhibition, which aroused his homesickness. He specially invited Mr. Cai and Cai Nufei to draw a picture of a lion-headed goose, which has been hung in the living room of his home in Guangzhou for decades and is regarded as one of his favorite collections. At the beginning of 1980, 48-year-old Cai Nufei was accepted as a member of Guangdong Branch of China Artists Association. In June of that year, Cai Nufei was full of creative enthusiasm and created a picture of hundreds of geese with different expressions. Unfortunately, he died suddenly on the third day after he created the picture of a hundred geese. His posthumous work "Hundred Goose Map" was too late to be signed, and then it was supplemented by his mentor Cai.

Now, "Hundred Goose Map" is hung in the most conspicuous place at home by Cai Zhaoping, the son of Cai Nufei, and regarded as a family heirloom. (SAR Evening News Chen Yaoxian)
