Cai Feng Tower is a contemporary building with the same style as Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The building is 22 meters high and square, with three cornices at the top and a small dome decorated with flowers in the middle. Covering an area of 100 square meters, it was originally a brick-wood structure, and 1934 was rebuilt with cement steel plate structure, maintaining some characteristics of the original building. Cai Feng Building is adjacent to Zhenjiang in the east and Fujiang in the west. It is magnificent, exquisite and antique, and is known as the symbol of Shaoguan.
Fengcai Building is located in Shaoguan City, with Wushui in the west and Zhenjiang in the east. It was built by Qian Yong, the governor of Shaozhou in the Ming Dynasty, to commemorate the famous officials in the Northern Song Dynasty, and was rebuilt many times. Because Yujing has the reputation of "going to the end with more elegance", it is named Fengcailou. Chen Baisha, a scholar in Ming Dynasty, wrote a book "Collecting Wind Tower" with flexible and vigorous pen and ink, carved it into a stone tablet and hung it high on the gatehouse. The whole building of Fengcai Building is magnificent, unique and magnificent. It is a landmark building in Shaoguan City and is now a museum in Shaoguan City.
Attachment: There is a story in Shaoguan Cai Feng Mansion.
In Shaoguan, I finally abandoned the naive belief without reservation-only traveling with a backpack and banishing myself to the sky and the sea is the only way to travel-and I began to understand that those so-called small places actually have the most intriguing beauty as long as they are discovered with heart. You don't have to go to a French town, an English village or a German castle. Small towns in China are like people with rich expressions. Different histories and cultures have finally created an indelible character that makes you cry.
Walking on the road in this small town in northern Guangdong, all I can do is chew every story that happened here slowly. A photo, a detail, a careful experience, mixed with what we have experienced and what we have not experienced, what we have heard or not heard of.
There are no bustling traffic and towering skyscrapers here. She is like a girl who grew up in a boudoir, and only a discerning person can read her.
Ancient city landmark fengcailou
To bear the geographical symbols of a city, its mission is probably not only the building itself, but also a symbol of the character and culture of this place. It witnessed the story of the city and made a historical allusion. In my opinion, Fengcai Building is a landmark building in Shaoguan.
Fengcai Building was built in memory of Yu Jing, a famous minister in the Song Dynasty. He is a representative of outstanding figures in Shaoguan history. He was once praised as one of the "four remonstrances" that the imperial court dared to remonstrate. The word "grace" came from Song Xiang's poem praising Yu Jing: "If you want to get the plan of the son of heaven, grace will move to the end."
In Shaoguan, the wind sweeping the building is the only antique. Because of the rules of modern architecture and the sweeping wind under magnificent and elegant buildings, it is even more antique now. It is a delicate aesthetic feeling that comes out of history. When the wind-swept building has completed its historical task in the past, this style seems to indicate that it will last forever tomorrow. It is the symbol of this ancient city. Today, many merchants still use "elegant demeanor" as the font size and trademark.
About two blocks from Fengcailou, there is an alley called Yuxiang Lane. According to local people, this is Yujing's ancestral home. The deep alley is unremarkable, but most people living in Yuxiang Lane are ordinary people. Only the Yujing Memorial Hall inside reminds you that this is a memorable place.
Today's bustling Fengdu Road
Now the busiest road in Shaoguan is called Fengdu Road. This "Fengdu Road Pedestrian Street" seems to have been difficult to connect with the history of the Tang Dynasty, but it was named in memory of Zhang Jiuling, Ming Taizu in the Tang Dynasty. Open the local history textbook "Shaoguan History" here, and you will see Zhang Jiuling's name at the beginning. He once played to Tang, stating the lessons of the rise and fall of emperors in previous dynasties, but Tang was only intoxicated with the prosperity of Kaiyuan and turned a deaf ear to advice. Fifteen years later, there was an Anshi rebellion. After the rebellion, Ming Chengzu finally regretted not listening to Zhang Jiuling's admonition. After that, Emperor Taizong appointed an official and asked, "Does it look like Zhang Jiuling?" "Fengdu Road" also got its name.
Fengdu Road is the oldest commercial street in Shaoguan. It may be difficult to tear it down and rebuild it. This is a kind of luck. Walking on the elegant road and experiencing the changes of shops on both sides is actually a mirror reflecting the development of people's lives. The ancient street exudes heat, which always arouses my endless curiosity to explore the figure of this street yesterday.
Ciba and Life Interest in Dialect
After eating Baba in Lijiang, Baba in Yangshuo and Qingtuanzi in Wuzhen, I came to Shaoguan and couldn't help but compare it with the mugwort Baba sold in the streets here. I often have a soft spot for the latter. Here are mugwort leaves from Ciba. According to the dietotherapy advocated today, Folium Artemisiae Argyi has a unique effect in Chinese medicine. Unconsciously, as a Ciba person's intention into this small and delicious food.
There are also grey water dishes, which are naturally fresh in the memory of the old Shaoguan people. Every family will make their own grey water dishes on holidays. You can add some vegetables and pork to make soup slices, or you can fry them golden brown and sprinkle with white sugar to make them smooth and tender. Now these things may only be found in the depths of alleys, but this is its most primitive taste of life.
Shaoguan dialect must also be mentioned. Nowadays, few people in the younger generation can speak those "astringent" sounds and local dialects, and they have all changed to Cantonese or Mandarin. However, the older generation of Shaoguan people insisted that they would rather sell their ancestral fields than their ancestral dialects. Dialects seem to have become the dialects of the older generation. When I saw two old people stopping by the market to chat with their families in local dialect, at that moment, I knew that the city still belonged to the old people. They continued the culture of the city and precipitated the essence of the city.

Diaojiaolou, Qilou and Strolling Door-"Old House" tells you everything about Shaoguan.
In Shaoguan's memory, there are no "fast food" and "batch", only ordinary objects, exquisite craftsmanship, ingenious ideas, and old houses that have withstood the wind and rain for a hundred years.
A wooden/bamboo house supported by wooden supports, with ladders extending upward.
There is a dilapidated "diaojiao building" in the middle of Dongdi Road in the urban area, which looks very unsightly in an oil painting today. But in the eyes of many "old Shaoguan", it used to be the most prosperous area in Shaoguan and the famous "Boss Street". There are many sources for the emergence of the "Diaojiaolou": in the past, the Beijiang River system was the main traffic line in Guangdong, and Qian Fan was competing for beauty on the river, so the coastal business was very busy, so the "Diaojiaolou" came into being, and cargo ships could directly drive under the Diaojiaolou and hoist the goods on board upstairs.
balcony
In the south of the Yangtze River, we can always see the characteristic buildings of water towns called verandas, and in Shaoguan Old Street, we can also see arcades with Lingnan characteristics similar to verandas, which are street-facing buildings built for the heavy rain in the south. The "arcade" was built across the sidewalk in front of the building and connected with each other along the road to form a promenade for free walking.
This arcade is actually the childhood memory of middle-aged Shaoguan people; For children, this is like a distant legend. What a real life it used to be, but now I don't know what to do.
Tanglongmen
Close to the door is the most common living object in the homes of ordinary people in Lingnan area. Trip, which means sliding and pushing in Cantonese, is very vivid; Jin Tan is a horizontally moving fence sliding door. The lower part is equipped with pulleys, and the rear part is equipped with vertical bolts and small copper bells. Most people don't close the door at home, just pull it up. As long as someone pulls it up, the small copper bell on the door will jingle.
