Resume of sculptor Zhang Guowei
Zhang Guowei is a famous young seal engraver born in the mid-1960s. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Peking University. Currently working in Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau, he is a member of the 9th All-China Youth Federation, the 8th and 9th Beijing Youth Federation, the 12th CPPCC in Xuanwu District of Beijing, China Calligraphers Association, and an adjunct professor at Capital Normal University. His family background, grandfather Zhang Yuecheng is a famous seal engraver in the late Qing Dynasty, and he has the reputation of "the best pen". In his early years, he founded the Tonggu Hall, which is well-known in the north and south, and made eight seals for Emperor Xuan Tong, such as Xuan Tong Imperial Pen and Wuyi Zhai Refined Seal. He also made friends with Hu Shi, Lu Xun, Weng Wenhao, Zhou Zuoren and Ma Heng. In the early years of the founding of the People's Republic of China, he carved a seal of "People's Republic of China (PRC) Central People's Government", that is, the founding seal, which was collected in the National Museum of Beijing and belonged to the national first-class cultural relics. Zhang Guowei's father, Zhang Youcheng, is also a master of epigraphy and printing. When Zhang Guowei arrived, he was already a veteran of three generations.
