How to learn calligraphy freely?

My opinion is different from that of most people!

First, whose copy you want depends on who you like!

Second, you don't have to start practicing block letters. Official script is more suitable for beginners!

Third, if you start practicing block letters, you'd better not practice Zhao Ti first. European four-body is the easiest to get started, followed by Yan, Liu and Zhao (Liu should be the most difficult to get started, but Zhao Ti is easy for beginners to get into trouble).

Fourthly, if you start with official script, I suggest Shi Chenbei start with it (you like it at last).

Fifth, if you are practicing pen calligraphy and just want to write better, I suggest you write bigger words when you practice first (if you exaggerate a little, you can say that you draw words instead of writing). The purpose of doing this is to practice the structure of words. Once the writing structure is good, you are basically successful!
