Who is the founder of Rong Baozhai?

Rong Baozhai, formerly known as Songzhuzhai, was founded in the 11th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (A.D. 1672), and was renamed Rong Baozhai in the 20th year of Qing Guangxu (A.D. 1894). It has a long history of more than 300 years.

The founder of Songzhuzhai is a native of Zhejiang, surnamed Zhang. He used his salary as an official in Beijing to open a small "Nanzhi Store". Later, it was the most famous Nanzhi store in Liulichang, which was named after its official roll and official fold.

Later, due to operational difficulties, the name of the store was changed to "Rong Baozhai" in the 20th year of Guangxu reign (A.D. 1894). It was suggested that friends should be educated and their reputation should be cherished, and Lu Runxiang, a famous calligrapher at that time, was invited to inscribe "Rong Baozhai". After Rong Baozhai, he is famous at home and abroad for his stunt "water cleverness".
