Song Xiang, named Huan Xiang, was an outstanding poet and calligrapher in Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang periods of Qing Dynasty, and was known as "the first genius in Lingnan". Song Xiang was born in Hu Xiang Village, Baidu Town, Jiayingfu (now Meixian District, Meizhou City) on February 25th, 756. His father Song Buyun was a private school teacher. At the age of 58, he became the magistrate of Qujing, Guangnan, Yongchang and Dali in Yunnan Province. I have been an official in Yunnan for 13 years, managing mountains, water, poverty and people, living a clean life and making outstanding achievements. At the age of 70, he was promoted to the governor of Hubei Province. When he left Yunnan, the people of Yunnan spontaneously gathered in a long queue and reluctantly saw him off. In the sixth year of Daoguang (1826,65438+February 25th), he died in his sleep at the age of 7 1, and he didn't even have the money for burial. It was the locals and their elders who raised money to help him deal with the aftermath. In many places, in order to commemorate the glorious image of his clean life, temple statues and monuments were built. Ruan Jinxian, a native of Shilan, was a juren in Bingwu, Wanli, Ming Dynasty (1606).
