Gan Zhongliu, born in 1963, is from Hongpu Town, Huaining County, Anhui Province. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Anhui Normal University in 1985 and went to work in Qinghai in the same year. From 1993 to 1999, he studied at the Institute of Chinese Calligraphy Culture of Capital Normal University and obtained master's and doctorate degrees. He is currently a professor at the Chinese Calligraphy Culture Research Institute of Capital Normal University, a doctoral supervisor, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and the deputy director of the Education Publishing Committee of the Beijing Calligraphers Association. Mainly engaged in the teaching and research of calligraphy theory and cursive writing. He has won the "Most Popular Teacher among Students" and "Excellent Tutor" awards from Capital Normal University.
