About Jiuzhaigou
Jiuzhaigou is a world natural heritage, a national key scenic spot, a national AAAAA tourist attraction, a national nature reserve, a national geological park and a network of world biosphere reserves. It is the first nature reserve in China with the main purpose of protecting natural scenery.
Jiuzhaigou is located in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is located in the transition zone between Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, West Sichuan Plateau and Sichuan Basin. It is more than 300 kilometers south of Chengdu. It is a ravine with a depth of more than 50 kilometers, with a total area of 64,297 hectares and a forest coverage rate of over 80%. Nine Tibetan villages, including Shuzheng Stockaded Village, Ye He Village and Zechawa Village, are located in this mountain and lake group.
Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve mainly protects rare animals such as giant pandas and golden monkeys and their natural ecological environment. There are 74 species of rare plants under state protection, 8 species of animals under state protection/kloc-0, rich in paleontological fossils and ancient glacial landforms.
"Jiuzhai returns without looking at the water" is a true interpretation of Jiuzhaigou scenery. There are 108 Haizi in springs, waterfalls, rivers and beaches, which constitute a colorful jade basin in Yaochi. The six landscapes of Changhai, Jianyan, Nuorilang, Shuzheng, Zharu and Black Sea are distributed in a "Y" shape. Cuihai, Waterfalls, Colorful Forests, Xuefeng, Tibetan Love and Lan Bing are called "Six Wonders". The magical Jiuzhai village is known as "fairy tale world" and "king of waterscape".
Affected by the earthquake, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area stopped receiving tourists on 20 17 August 9.
From March 8, 20 18, some landscapes in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area will be reopened. The open area is the landscape along the Jiuzhaigou scenic spot from Mizoguchi to Changhai, guided by special car and group tour.
