The film "Shadow" directed by Zhang Yimou is puzzling. You can't react until you see the ending. How to evaluate this work?

The story is adapted from Jingzhou, Three Kingdoms. In fact, the story in the whole movie has nothing to do with the Three Kingdoms. The story is overhead history, and the country name in the film is "Pei"; Yu Zi, as the governor of Guo Pei, was beheaded by an assassin with a sharp axe at the court when he was eight years old. His uncle searched everywhere, then found an eight-year-old boy who looked like Yu Zi, and took him back to body double, also known as the "shadow" state.

Seriously, there is a scene missing at the end of the movie. Xiao Ai was startled when she saw the three men fighting. Yu Zi is her husband, Pei Liang is the monarch, and the shadow is the man she likes and had a one-night stand. In the end, Yu Zi killed Pei Liang, the monarch, and Shadow killed Yu Zi.

Facing this scene, she was shocked and flustered. The ending doesn't show whether she is finally replaced by the shadow (Yu Zi), only her pupils are dilated and she is insane, and then the whole situation is over. According to the reasoning of the old system, a woman should be attached to a man, and the shadow replaced Yu Zi, so she must finally be with the shadow.

Zhang Yimou's technique of expression is the change of color. The whole movie has only two main colors "black and white". Pei's hall is full of black and white calligraphy, people's clothes are all black and white, and the scene is also black and white. The film only told the story for four days from beginning to end, and then it rained for four days. Even in the place of fighting, it is a black and white martial arts. I remember that "Golden Flower in the City" is yellow and "Hero" is red. The other is the application of guqin. In the scene of passionate fighting, the sound of guqin is amazing.
