The unique taste and special position of Chaoyanggou, a Henan opera, in the history of modern drama in China is indisputable and irreplaceable. The play was premiered in Zhengzhou on May 1958 by the Third Troupe of Henan Henan Opera Academy, with screenwriter Yang Lanchun, directors Yang Lanchun and Xu Xin, music designer Wang Jixiao and Jiang Hongxuan, and stage art designer Guan Peng.
