Zhang Wenyuan's works

Zhang cartoon came out, but he was keen on Chinese painting, which deeply influenced the literati's way of "reaching but not being poor", so he used it for reference. His mastery of Chinese painting stems from his assiduous copying of ancient paintings, and also benefits from his years of being neighbors of Li Keran and Fu Baoshi, masters of Chinese painting. His traditional Chinese paintings focus on landscapes and humanities, and he writes more about the mountains and rivers of the motherland, cultural customs and daily life. His works are thick and thick, with strong colors, or simple lines and plain colors; Often splashed with color, or without bone water, naturally self-contained, or incisively and vividly, full of interest. Flexible and natural, do what you should do and stop when you should stop; Loyal to tradition, willing to innovate, his works are ambitious and far-reaching, but he dares to eat fireworks, showing great vitality. Therefore, its ink painting technique is unique, its theme is novel, its charm is unique and its personality is complete. There are more than 400 frames of traditional Chinese paintings in Zhang Wenyuan, which can be roughly divided into theme sequences such as "Bashan Shushui", "Yellow Land Customs", "Cowshed Years", "Wandering Traces" and "Splash Ink Landscape". There are also one or two hidden in some museums and art galleries.

Most of these works reflect the remarkable characteristics of Mr. Zhang's integration of poetry and calligraphy, and have been praised by old newspaper reporters: "I can't help but marvel at my brother's works." It turns out that he not only paints exquisitely and quaint, but also writes kung fu, and his poems are as pure as those of the ancients. " It is no exaggeration to say, "Wen Yuan's brother's poems, books and paintings are the best."

Mr. Chen Weisi, a close friend of Zhang Wenyuan, studied Zhang Wenyuan and his paintings in his later years. In his view, if Zhang Wenyuan is a literati painter, it is not an exaggeration to say that he "died of painting". His paintings are masters of nature, creating his own scenery, often full of comedy aura, so his style is unique; His poems are clear, catchy, easy to understand and full of realm; His calligraphy is unpretentious and outstanding, and most people can appreciate it. More importantly, his paintings, regardless of scenery, figures and landscapes, obviously have a main line of China literati painting, which is full of unique life breath and brand of the times, and is an image reflection of life philosophy. It always embodies the persistent pursuit of life, society and nature by literati. In his unrestrained freehand brushwork, there is a strong artistic conception of life and society everywhere; Even his almost abstract splash-on ink painting shows the characteristics of abandoning false assumptions, being naive and frank, and being detached from lovers' lives.

Zhang Wenyuan was lame in his later years, but he was still brave enough. Nearly 80 years old, he went to Shuofang to collect wind and sketch in Huashan alone, and went north to mourn Liu Weng's former residence in Zaoyuan. The completed and unfinished works left behind have become the unique life and spiritual echo of Mr. Zhang Wenyuan.

Zhang Wenyuan is now buried in his hometown where he was born and raised, facing the ships coming and going day and night in Yanglintang. Just like he is a drop in the ocean, humble, but pregnant with life. His granddaughter has grown into a young artist, engaged in popular and popular art education, depicting the new Taicang and a better life today, tomorrow and future!
