Who is the author of Ten Notes of Caotang by Wen Zhiming, a calligrapher in Ming Dynasty?

The author is Lu Hong (also known as Hongyi), whose real name is Haoran, and his date of birth and death is unknown. He was the Lu family of Fanyang (now Zhuoxian County, Hebei Province) in Youzhou in the Tang Dynasty, and later moved to Luoyang to live in seclusion in Songshan (now Dengfeng City).

He is knowledgeable and proficient in a variety of calligraphy, such as official script, seal script, regular script and official script. He is good at depicting mountains, water, stones and trees, creating a clear atmosphere and attracting people.

Lu Hong's paintings mainly reflect his carefree and contented seclusion life, among which the most famous is Ten Notes of Cottage (Ten Scenes of Songshan Mountain), including Cottage, Inverted Scenes Terrace, Yueguan, Yunjinyi, Qixian, Difan Collection, Xuanshidong and Jinbitan Ten Scenes. The painting style is similar to Wang Wei's, and Wei's is very famous at that time and later generations, which shows the profound attainments in painting art, but unfortunately, the original has long been lost, and only the temporary copy of Ten Chapters of Caotang handed down from generation to generation can be seen. However, it can still make viewers appreciate the style of the original work, which has always been a famous painting valued and copied by painters of all ages.

The fine print inscription in Ten Chapters of Caotang is quite wonderful. Every scene has a paragraph, or imitation of danger, or imitation of Chu, or imitation of Yan, all of which have both form and spirit and taste. Even Li's manuscripts are precious materials for studying the lower case fonts before the Song Dynasty.

The original picture is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, and the printed version in China is rare. I love calligraphy in Sui and Tang Dynasties on weekdays, and I found four paragraphs in Caotang, Inverted Scenery Terrace, Qi Xian and Mu Cuiting by consulting old materials. Now I upload them to this section for book lovers to learn, and attach some original pictures and the postscript of Yang Ningshi in the Five Dynasties. I hope that the majority of book lovers can fill in the remaining paragraphs.
