Chinese traditional cultural materials are written into a composition

About paper-cutting and New Year’s Eve dinner:

Our Chinese traditional culture is profound and has a long history. Today, I will introduce paper cutting to you! The content of paper-cutting contains a strong flavor of life. Fish, insects, birds, beasts, flowers, trees, pavilions and bridges, these natural scenery that people are familiar with and love, have become the patterns of people's paper-cutting. Every time there is a New Year or a happy event, people have to cut out some characters such as "福" and "喜" to express their celebration.

The images depicted in paper-cutting are vivid and lifelike. Let’s take a look at this “Fairy Descends to Earth” first! The four fairies have different expressions and dance gracefully. Their arms are wrapped with light and silky ribbons, which are gently swaying in the wind. Look at this "Squirrel Picking Grapes" again. I saw it wagging its big fluffy tail, its small eyes staring at the big purple grapes, for fear of being snatched away by other small animals.

There are also interesting folk stories in paper-cutting! This paper-cut tells the story of "The Mouse Getting Married". Look! The little mice were carrying the big sedan chair, the groom was very proud, and the big tabby cat was extremely envious. It turns out that the story goes like this: Father Mouse wants to find a good son-in-law for his daughter. Mother Mouse said the sun was the best, the sun said the clouds were the best, the clouds said the wind was the best, the wind said the wall was the best, and the wall said the mouse was the best. Best of all, the little mouse has a bride.

What a beautiful paper-cut! It’s so addictive!

It’s the New Year, and folk customs are popular again: Yangko dancing, hanging lanterns, and window grilles... Among many folk arts, folk paper-cutting can be regarded as the most acceptable "celebration sticker". Every time I see the pieces of paper-cutting that embellish and beautify people's lives, my love for paper-cutting comes back to my heart...

I fell in love with paper-cutting, and I have to start with the influence of art. I remember that starting from the age of four or five, my versatile father often drew small animals for me. He could draw all kinds of small animals vividly with just a few strokes. At that time, my father was really great in my mind. Later, my parents were busy with work and sent me to my grandma's house. Grandma has a pair of skillful hands, and she can often make different patterns out of a piece of paper with just a few scissors. The yellowed paper, the tarnished scissors, and the exquisite patterns all left a deep impression on me. Maybe from that time on, I was conquered by the charm of art. Maybe it was this family atmosphere that gave me my first vague understanding of art.

When I was in high school, by chance, a friend from the Academy of Fine Arts gave me two books on paper-cutting. I was deeply attracted by the content in the book. Through these two books, I have a relatively comprehensive understanding of paper-cutting. Its ingenious expression techniques completely impressed me, so I became an out-and-out fan of paper-cutting.

Because I have a foundation in art, I feel comfortable learning paper-cutting. However, paper-cutting is a delicate job that cannot be done by those who are impatient. Often a work is about to be completed, but the work fails because a line is accidentally cut, which is very regrettable. So speaking of it, this paper-cutting can also cultivate your body and mind. Only by carefully understanding the mysteries can the works follow nature, be simple and fresh, find cleverness in the crude, be bold in the rough, and flow in the subtle.

For me, paper cutting is a kind of enjoyment. Staring at the pattern with both eyes, she cut and cut, as if using scissors to cut out the words in her heart. The slight sound made by the scissors when cutting the paper was like wonderful music. In this wonderful music, the cute animals "live", The beautiful flowers "bloomed"... I used to be so active that I couldn't sit still. But since I fell in love with paper-cutting, I can work for five or six hours continuously without raising my head. My friends said that I am a bit "crazy".

As time went by, my family members were also influenced by me. Once, a piece of work was only half-finished, so I put it down and went to do other things. When I came back, I found that someone had tampered with the paper-cutting and made the work look messy. I pressed my little sister, but she refused, but my mother did. She said that she tried to carve out the details, but she didn’t expect that she didn’t grasp the importance. It seems easier than done! Although I feel sad that my work was damaged, my heart is full of joy when I see my family being affected by the paper-cutting.

The voices, the voices, the clinking of glasses, the laughter...the sounds are sweet and melodious, forming a wonderful symphony that ripples in the night sky on New Year's Eve, for a long time, for a long time...
