Wang Yinglin (1223- 1296) was a famous scholar and educator in the Southern Song Dynasty. He was born in Yinxian County (now Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province). He is versatile academically, advocates Zhu's theory, dabbles in classics, astronomy and geography, is proficient in anecdotes and systems, and is good at textual research. After the demise of the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Yinglin chose to live in seclusion in the countryside, closed the door and did not welcome guests, and concentrated on writing. His calligraphy works handed down from generation to generation include Writing a Book and so on. He is the author of several books, such as the Holy Amethyst, Sleepy Moon Hee, Zhu Zhu in Primary School, Yuhai, Zi Zhi Tong Jian, Shen Ning Ji, and Poetic Geography Examination. These works involve various fields, showing his erudition and profound understanding of knowledge, which have had an important impact on later generations. Wang Yinglin left a glorious stroke in the history of China with his academic achievements and educational contributions.
