Due to the social unrest and years of war at the end of the Han Dynasty, the literati in this period had both political ideals and ambitions, as well as pragmatic spirit, open-minded attitude and resilience. Jian' an style is generally in the form of five words, which is famous for its vigorous, generous and sad.
Introduction of Jian' an style
No longer bound by Confucianism, Jian 'an writers centered on Cao Shi and his son are characterized by lofty political ideals, short life lament, strong personality and strong tragic color in their literary works, which all constitute the era style of "Jian 'an style".
During the Qi and Liang Dynasties in the Southern Dynasties, Liu Xie commented on the style of Jian 'an poetry in the late Han Dynasty as "elegant and generous, easy to escape from the world, evil customs and resentment, deep ambition and long pen, outline and rich spirit." This is a glorious era in the history of literature, and of course it is also a glorious era in the history of poetry. In this era, poetry and prose have made great progress.
Poetry, in particular, set off the first climax of literati poetry in the history of China literature, and established the dominant position of literati poetry from then on, which had a far-reaching impact on later generations. The brilliant achievements of Jian 'an literature had a far-reaching impact on the later development of literature and art. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Liu Xie and Zhong Rong praised the writing style of Jian 'an period many times. Tang Chenzi praised "the character of Han and Wei Dynasties", and Li Baiyou wrote a poem that "the bones of great writers are all your brushes, and they are in heaven".
