I know this question! Yu Shinan's ancient cicada poem:
When you hang down and drink clear dew, you will hear sparse tung.
It's not the autumn wind that keeps you away.
Translation:
A cicada drinking dew from a height. Its sound comes from the sparse tung trees, and
it reaches people's ears far away, not with the help of the autumn wind.
Note:
ruí: The tentacles are hung down. Hey, the drooping part of the hat band that the ancients tied under the chin. Cicada's head has protruding tentacles, which are shaped like drooping tassels, so it is called "drooping".
drinking clear dew: the ancients thought that cicadas were noble in nature and lived high to drink dew.
streaming sound: spread sound, also refers to outgoing sound. Here, the cicada keeps singing.
sparse paulownia: a luxuriant phoenix tree with spreading branches. Sparse, help.
high: refers to living in a high place, meaning pun.
jiè: rely on.
autumn wind: it implies the power of the emperor.
About the author:

Yu Ji had no children, and Shinan adopted him, so the word "Bo Shi" was used. Emperor Yangdi was an official living in Sheren, and in the Tang Dynasty he served as a secretary supervisor and a bachelor of Hong Wen Pavilion. He was once awarded the title of Yong Xing County and the title of Dr. Yin Qingguang Lu, who was called "Yu Secret Supervisor" or "Yu Yongxing". Capable of writing and calligraphy. There are 16 volumes of Bei Tang Shu Chao. "All Tang Poems" contains one volume of its poems.
Creative background:
Yu Shinan, with a quiet personality, has always stood aloof from the rest of the world. He didn't show his talents in the Sui Dynasty. After entering the Tang Dynasty, he was not involved in the power struggle between Wu Zetian and Tang Zhongzong because of his personality and principles of life. Finally, in the period of Emperor Taizong, he was gradually reused and promoted by his own abilities and talents, and became one of the important aides of Emperor Taizong.
Appreciation:
This poem is ingenious in conception, and expresses its ambition through cicada, which not only praises cicada's high sentiment and charm, but also conceals its luxurious identity and places its praise on noble quality. The style of the whole poem is Tsinghua, with concentrated pen and ink and distinct views.
